Quite a few stars in it. Could be terrible. Could be the best thing ever.

Huge Dexter fan. Finally got around to Dexter New Blood. Didn't make it past first episode. Did I bail to soon? Dating a police chief? Really? All the characters are silly. Just wasn't vibing for me personally.

If you are going to watch Dexter resurrection then I would binge through it I thought new blood was above average, I mean why is dating a police chief off for Dexter? His entire life has always been law enforcement so to me that was a natural fit for him.

The ending of new blood was disappointing, but as a whole I thought it was pretty good. I would put it in the S3/S5 bucket in terms of quality. Not as good as the peak seasons (1, 2, 4), but waaaay better than the last 3 seasons of the original series.

I largely agree with this, although I was fine with the ending to New Blood. I just think many hated it because they were upset that they brought Dexter back and then (apparently) killed him. Because of the reaction, I doubt they will make that mistake again, so for as many seasons as Resurrection goes, I think it is more likely that it ends with him being outed and caught than killed. It will leave open the possibility of more again in the future and it won't piss off the many fans who simply do not want Dexter to die.

This season of Resurrection has been good, though. Like you said, it doesn't touch the peak seasons of the original, but it's better than the back half.

Yes new blood and resurrection are essentially just a continuation of the original series. Basically season 9 and season 10.

Original Sin is a prequel.
