Dez Bryant: Since we haven't seen him play (1 Viewer)

Trying to gauge if Dez Bryant is still the consensus #1 dynasty player since we haven't seen him play.

Mathews has looked great.

Best has looked great.

Spiller has looked great (at times).

So where does Dez rank in your mind as of today and where would you rank Dez, Mathews, Best and Spiller?

EDIT: I stand corrected. I have changed the thread title to ask how you would rank these 4 players as of today for dynasty.

Never was, IMO. I liked Mathews and Best more before, and still do. Since RBs tend to hold more trade value in my leagues I would consider taking Spiller ahead of him too.

Since when has Dez ever been the consensus #1 rookie?
Dynasty.Its a lot different than a rookie in a re-draft.

WRs are over-valued because their careers are so much longer.
Obviously you were talking about dynasty. That doesn't change my question at all.http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...7&hl=rookie

Fair enough. Then how do you ranking them?

Re-stated the original question.

I stand corrected on the consensus dynasty #1.

But how do you rank the other 3 as of today?

Dynasty, I say it's Matthews first and then Bryant second. Best looks good though.
Why in the hell would anyone take Mathews over Best?
Because hes built to handle a large load and has the power to become a great goal line rb. Also he doesnt have the insane injury history best does. They are both great, but its lol'able to act like best is so much more valuable. I assume you're fishing.

I've watched every snap Mathews has played his preseason. While he has burst and power, I haven't seen evidence that he has particularly good vision. Maybe that doesn't matter....but it seems like an important factor for a RB to become elite.

His vision and instints are some of his best qualities. In college it was great and it will be great in the nfl. Also for people asking why would anyone take mathews over best ask the sd front office who traded up a bunch to get him and seem to be able to judge rb talent pretty well. All this said i love best and have no issue if someone likes best better its just funny to hear some people act like its so clear cut that best is better.

Ranking???

I've got them..

1. Matthews

2. Spiller

3. Dez

4. Best

But I'm lower on Best and higher on Spiller than most on this board anymore.

Ranking???
MathewsBest/spiller tieBryantHonestly though they are really close and all elite talents. Id be happy with any of them. If someone ranked bryant/best/spiller #1 i wouldn't bat an eye.

I have them the same as i did in May. Although the gap between 1 and 3 is smaller.

1. Mathews (I still like him as the #1, but the small gap i had between him and Spiller in May is even smaller now.)

2. Spiller (I had Spiller slightly ahead of Best in May, now i would say they are dead even)

3. Best (These three RB's are as close as it gets, the 1.3 is worth the same as the 1.1 to me if i were doing a rookie draft right now. I might even prefer the 1.3 so i would never have to 2nd guess my selection down the road.)

4. Bryant (Its nothing he did, or didnt do that made the gap bigger between him and the RB's, it is just how impressed i am with the RB's)

This is based on a non-ppr, although i dont think it would be much different unless the scoring/roster requirements heavily favored WR's.

I will say this, i would bet that Bryant will have more dynasty value than at least one, and maybe all 3 of the RB's in 2+ years. I still wouldnt consider taking him over any 3 of the RB's in a rookie draft right now.
