Everybody @ practice. Dez Bryant (ribs) is in full pads. We'll c if he's full go later. Witten, Jenkins also good 2 go. 1 minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

who's rolling with him this week? I think he finds the end zone and is well targeted this week..what say you?
Gotta like his matchup. Unfortunately he is my WR2 behind Colston and ahead of Mike Thomas, Harry Douglas and Devin Aromashadu. Not exactly a tough call.

:excited: Im playing him over nicks.... Nicks has a tough match up against TN who gives up 80 yards and hou give up 400... anyone think im crazy in ppr to sit nicks for Dez....

I watched the whole game and I'd say he and Roy played to a draw. There was one catch Roy had that I think was intended for Austin cause Austin was right behind him. I didn't see Bryant do anything that I noticed being bad or that was called out by the announcers, but I/They could have missed something. However, a rookie WR occasionally looking lost on routes is expected and shouldn't affect their use of him. Roy often looks lost on routes and he's a seven-year vet.
Roy just looks like a big gangly goof out there after he catches the ball....he looks un-coordinated
:shock:I went to Texas and this one had me lolcoptering. Its true.Unrelated, i need to increase my usage of the word goof. Its a great word. :goodposting:
:lmao: and ROY bats balls down like he has a pirate hook for hands... he is the biggest goof out there.. he trips over his own feet, runs horrible routes and bats balls down... When is dallas gonna get smart and give dez more opportunity they are 0-2 and their offense looks terrible... wake up Cowboys

The issue with Dez not getting as many snaps last week is that he's still learning the appropriate hot reads on blitzes. Until he knows what to do when his corner blitzes, his snaps will be reduced.

Expect Houston to test this skill early. If Dez isnt on the same page as Romo, Houston will keep blitzing or Dez will see the bench. Defenses will continue to exploit Dez's lack of knowledge until he can consistently prove he's on the same page as Romo.

I'd have to say yes. Nicks is a much better play. So he draws Finnegan? So what? Nicks can beat Finnegan easy.Bryant as mentioned below is still fighting for targets. Nicks does not have that problem. And he has 4 TDs through 2 games. How do you bench that for a rook with meager yards and no receiving TDs?

That is a very interesting observation.

How long does this really take to learn though? Is this a week or year type learning curve?

there are only a few options for a WR on a corner blitz, but it does take chemistry with the QB.

Benching him for Louis Murphy this week. I think/hope by midseason he will be a must start though. If he's taking most of the snaps in a game playing opposite of Miles Austin he opportunities for single coverage big bombs should be plentiful. If the O-line heals and he learns his blocking like the posters above said (great observation by the way) his ceiling is massive.

Man I hope you're right. My judgement may be clouded by homerism, but he looks pretty good for a rook. We'll see this week. Manning lit up Houston, so maybe this is the week Romo breaks out. I think I need to see something from Dez this week or next to solidify my expectations.

He missed one in the last game, and I bet its been hammered home to him by now.It just takes a few practice reps and attention to detail during the game. He may have been too caught up in the moment and forgot his assignment until it was too late and the ball whizzed by his head.My small college team (NAIA) ran hot routes...I'm sure he understands the concept.

You realize that Ten has faced Jason Campbell from the Raiders and Dennis Dixon/Batch from Steelers hardly premier NFL qbs. Their pass defense thus far is a mirage.

You say mirage, I say untested. Either way I'd be starting Nicks but wouldn't expect a huge game.

Anything can happen, let's be honest. Nicks could get a sprained ankle in the 1st quarter so there's a chance for anything. However, Nicks definately has a higher percentage to outpoint Dez Bryant. Nicks has 4 passing Td's where Dez Bryant has none. Tennessee's pass D is NOT as good as it looks on paper. I have both on the same team and like I said, I realize there's no sure thing in fantasy football, there's not the slightest thought in my head of benching Nicks for D. Bryant, none.

Ive concidered benching TO for Dez. Not sure if this is the week to do it, as this is the weakest opponent that the Bengals have faced thus far.

I think he breaks out in a big way this week, and I'm surprised to see that he's so woefully low in the FBG rankings. He's facing a team that's given up 800+ yards passing in two games, and the Texans will put the brunt of their effort into stopping Austin. Romo has been locking on to Austin, and, while this has been great for Austin's fantasy numbers, it hasn't been good for the Cowboys. In addition, I'm sure Jerry Jones is antsy about going into his bye 0-3 and then facing three tough matchups, so he's probably in Wade's face more than usual (if that's possible), and in my mind, that means he'll want the ball in the hands of the guys who he thinks are the most explosive (and who he wanted in the draft), i.e. Felix and Dez. Should be interesting to watch, but I absolutely believe he'll be startable this week and could truly explode.

Dez has looked really good so far today. Only once catch as I write this but has had two spectacular plays for would-be-touchdowns. One play was a really nice body-adjustment in the air where Dez couldn't get his feet down in the end zone, and one long catch and run was called back because the official ruled that Dez was ineligible after it looked like he'd been pushed out and re-established. After his one catch, he made a very nice after-the-catch move to split two tacklers. All in all, he's looked quite good.
