I won my league this year and one reason was that I drafted McFadden (subsequently traded for Bush in the early part of the season). But something I thought about all year was prior to my draft I was seriously debating on drafting McFadden, Mendy, or a WR at 1.11. I read this thread What's up with the McFadden Hate? and below was a response by "Fruity Pebbles" that sold me on drafting McFadden. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar "defining" moment from these FBG Forums that helped them win?

Has a RB ever been unsuccessful under Saunders?

•2010 – Ray Rice over 1,700 yards

•2009 – Ray Rice over 2,000 yards

•2008 – Steven Jackson over 1,400 yards in 12 games

•2007 – Clinton Portis over 1,600 yards

•2006 – Ladell Betts with 1,600 yards and an injured Portis with over 700 yards

•2005 – Larry Johnson rushes for over 1,750 – Priest and LJ combine for 2,600 yards and 28 td’s

•2004 – Priest Holmes – Over 1,000 yards and 15 td’s in 8 games – then another 1,000 yards rushing from Larry Johnson and a dude named Blaylock

•2003 – Priest Holmes – Over 2,100 yards

•2002 – Priest Holmes – Nearly 2,300 yards

•2001 – Priest Holmes – 2,100 plus yards

•2000 – Marshall Faulk – Over 2,100 yards and 26 td’s

•1999 – Marshall Faulk 0 Over 2,400 yards (Over 1,000 receiving yards)

Thank you fruity pebbles for this analysis!

I'd like to say thanks to the OP who started the 'who do we target?' thread with regards to Antonio Brown!

good job! worked like a charm. got Brown on the cheap!

I wouldn't say a single post but a thread. I can't seem to find it, but Tefertiller or Pasquino? (can't remember who)started a thread about "Searching for the next Brandon Lloyd" early in the season. I picked up several key WR's that made a difference. That thread was money.

Another thread I can think of that was huge to winning the championship, was Bloom's rent-a-defense or waiver wire defense threads throughout the season. Pure gold.

Finally, gotta give some love to "the audible" waiver wire podcasts. I could not make them most of the time live, but it was great to hear Bloom, Waldman, and Lammey rank the top pickups and the reasoning behind them and it helped me to value my FAAB bids accordingly.

Get Matt Stafford before the season, Antonio Brown, Jimmy Graham. All those threads/suggestions won me titles in various leagues.

I generally do my own rankings and then read here to confirm my rankings, or to cast doubt onto them based on what I read.

Some players that I had ranked much higher than most I bumped down due to some info I read here, which helped, but I don't remember those.

I do remember having Stafford, Calvin, and McFadden way, way high compared to others. I had Stafford as QB5, McFadden as RB2, and Calvin as WR1 (and #3 overall). I came here and read info on them of "I'm looking for info to change my mind because these three outliers are way high compared to other rankings out there". The info on the board did nothing but re-affirm my confidence in them. Drafted all three (and knew I had to handcuff DMC with Bush early based on advice here as well) and won the league.

Don't know that any posts directly "led me to my title", but lots of information talked me out of taking people I had ranked highly too early (IE Mike Williams TB, Antonio Gates), and it re-affirmed my belief in the guys that got me to the title. Cheers.

Discussions and opinions on this board have led me to make some "correct" choices with rookie (or new to lead role) RBs. CJ3 in 2008, Rice in 2009 etc.

I don't think a single post helped me. But there are tons of threads in here with solid "insider" or homer info in them.

Helped me load up with players like Calvin Johnson when he was being undervalued last year. Same for Stevie Johnson, Darren McFadden, Jeremy Maclin, Cam Newton, Eli Manning, and others.

The IDP info is also a gold mine since so few people pay attention to IDP players.

Hopefully a Calvin Johnson owner or two sold high after seeing my posts...you probably could have gotten someone like Shady McCoy or Arian Foster after his 8 TD's in 4 games to start the season, especially with everyone saying he'd break the TD record, he was uncoverable, the best WR ever, etc.

I realize he's an absolute beast, but his value was never higher than after the first handful of games this season and hopefully some ppl got a king's ransom in return for him before a stretch of mediocre games (mediocre by his standards).

 It's a good bet that most owners that held on to CJ were handsomely rewarded.Week 15 - Dec 18 @OAK 9/214/2Week 16 - Dec 24 SD 4/102/1 Those are the two playoff weeks. Odds are, CJ got you a decent enough lead in your league to where you could hang on during his rough weeks. Assuming you had a decent roster to begin with.I'm glad I held on to him. When defenses wanted to "gunner cover" him, Detroit used other weapons at their disposal. Towards the end of the season teams started playing honest defense to try to contain everyone and "minimize" CJ. He is a beast. * Disclaimer - if you were able to get a kings ransom and you still won your league. Then that is good as well.

I don't recall a single post but last year the Blount thread, Mike Williams threads were huge and put them on my radar.

:goodposting: Even those of us who had week 17 title game got great production from Calvin in week 1711-244-1

I read a similar analysis from someone here re. RB's running behind Tom Cable coached OL's...this lead me to draft M. Lynch late. I held and held, and finally, when I needed him (i.e. when Javhid Best "broke") he saved my season. I lost by 2 points in the championship, but without Lynch, I'd have been starting wunderkids like Jackie Battle, Brandon Jacobs, and the waiver-wire-RB of the week.

I would like to thank all the documentation on why Vick shouldnt be picked number 1 and also the reasons against keeping him as my #2 keeper alongside ADP (kept Fitz). The team that drafted Vick in the first round of both of my money leagues didnt make the playoffs.

The year was 2000.

Joe Bryant, "grab Jeff Garcia"

The rest is history and joe bryant officially became respected around the FF world for the call, anything he's done since is gravy.

1999, I said, take Kurt Warner as a last flyer. Oh wait, this site wasn't around. I took it all the way to the bank while everyone else had to pick him up off waivers.

I think 1998 or 1997, I grabbed Rod Smith with my last pick in the draft. I had loaded up on RB's earlier in the draft.

None of these sites were around. It's all about studying and knowing all 32 teams with every player. Much the same as today.

Or you can use the Golden Glow

Pasquino's 'Next Brandon Lloyd' post. Not all the right calls were made, but it got me thinking and working on eventually getting there, primarily Cruz & Antonio Brown, plus enough DHB to fill out the middle of the bye season.

The thread that featured the Sun Sentinal article on Cam Newton. Took him in the 14th round of a redraft and rode him all the way.

I can't say got info from the board but thanks to the audible I followed there advice regarding Cam Newton. I was already considering placing a waiver wire bid on him but wa hesitant cause I drafted Stafford and Big Ben but they advised pic Cam up even if u already have 2 Qb's which is what I did. That move allowed me to trade Stafford for Ryan Matthews and Larry Fitzgerald that essentially won the season for me 1st wire to wire champ! In my league

:hifive: I wish I hadn't gotten busy with work, I enjoyed watching the film on him. Unfortunately I had him in all my leagues but cut him after some weak performances. I learned this season that I can't be so quick on the trigger with guys. Then subsequently held on to Damian Williams for far too long. Glad my post helped you guys out!

I play in a 12-teamer with an usual scoring system that has bonus points for good sportsmanship, so the thread pointing out the Aaron Rodgers photobombs tipped me off to avoid his arrogant ### and go with Brees instead.

:goodposting: last pick in my draft-took him even though I had Romo and Eli. won me the whole thing

Not one single post helped me win a championship because I ended up finsishing 4th.

Still a great site with tons of info that kept me in the game, and for that i'll be resubscribing next year. I appreciate the attention devoted to the IDP side of the game.
