Did I do the "right" thing (1 Viewer)

he put in braylon edwards instead...

it will probably cost me the game and my season (i am 0-2 in that league), but it didn't feel "right" knowing that and letting them take a zero...

thoughts?

I guess it's your responsibility to look at your opponents lineup and make sure that they didn't do anything dumb. Hey, from now on when you're a fan at a home game and the other team is about to get a delay of game I guess we should all start yelling out the playclock countdown like you do for the home team

I'd have called him too, right after kickoff. It's not my job to do the other guys homework. I spend many hours a week researching fantasy football and if my opponent chooses not to then that give me an advantage. Why would I want to call him and give that advantage I earned away?

Put it this way, I'm facing a guy with Stallworth in his starting lineup and at 3 PM I was devising ways to cut off his internet access.

The guy I was playing in one of my leagues don't have a computer at home and had 2 of his guys on bye. When he got to work today, the early games had already started, but I reminded him that he had those guys on bye and he didn't even realize he had anyone on bye today. I'm still projected to win, but I hate winning throw-aways.

Stallworth, Droughns, and C Brown were all starters in games in my league. No one said anything to anyone. The only comment anyone made regarding lineups all week was a Tuesday "Bye sucks, huh?" to the owner with Bledsoe, Tomlinson, L Jordan, Glenn, Gonzo and Tynes... which if it wasn't so obvious that his entire team was down for the week, would have broken our unwritten rule that you never mention to any owner, whether you're playing him or not, whether his guys are out, hurt, or on a bye.

If he can't be bothered to look at his team once during the week, too bad. Deserves the L.

Guy Im playing has:

Droughns and Rhodes OVER Willie Parker

McCareins OVER Cotchery

Kyle Brady OVER Vernon Davis

I didn't say anything.

Depends on if it were someone who would do the same for me. If it's a good friend then I probably would.

Maybe your league should not even turn in lineups. Just wait for results and then determine who everyone should have started. No, you did not do the right thing. The right thing would have been to just let the other owner manage his/her team and you manage yours.

i'm not in the habbit of making sure other teams start all healthy players.

that, x5 for teams that im PLAYING against.

Similar situation. My opponent out of town and doesn't call in a lineup. I felt bad for the guy so I sent in two players for him to cover bye week. One of those players was TJ Houshmanzadeh (sp?). I am now going to lose thanks to being nice. No good deed goes unpunished. 0-3 here I come.I should mention, the opponent was out of town for the funeral of an in-law - so it was the right thing to do....but 5 years ago when a similar situation occurred to me, my opponent was not so nice and i took the loss with bye week players in my lineup.

This wasn't a case of not preparing....He didn't start someone on a bye or someone that was hurt during the week...

This was someone who was a "surprise" scratch before kickoff...

Someone that he might have found out anyway...

I agree with you about having a player on a bye week or someone that was hurt the entire week but i think this is a different story...

decent $$ league...it was my father in law's team...i think (hope) he would have done the same....
Did you call the Guys that owned Chris Brown and Reubon Droughns. You are jeopardizing the integerity of the league when there is money involved. You can't help out 1 team and not another.

The hell you can't. Guys help their friends. Guys help their FIL. Nothing wrong with passing on info to people you like...

Do you cheat at the poker table too.

:lmao: Cheat? If a buddy has never played before, I'll probably tell him before the game that 7-2 offsuit is probably not a good hand to play. Is that cheating in Metux World? This week, Donte Stallworth = 72o.

The only time I "helped" an opponent was in week 1 of this season, he had Portis and Betts and couldn't decide who to put in his lineup. A little reverse psychology cost him 5 points.

Its his responsibility to do his own homework. Sure it was a nice thing to do, but it wouldnt have been poor sportsmanship to not tell him. Anyone with net access or who watches a pre game show would know he wasnt starting. Theres no way U should tell anyone about a bye week. If they bought a fantasy mag, they already have that info.

You showed integrity w/ your FIL.

I'm sure your wife knows...and tonight is thinking "wow, I love this man, I need to show him how much."

Dude, you killed two birds with one stone. There are more important things than FF.

That said, even if I'm playing my best buddy, I'm just playing dumb about Stallworth and pretending I didn't know either. Family is different, especially in-laws...

Why do other peoples homework for them? Must not be a $$$$ league.

I dont have Stallworth, but I am playing against him. It was no "surprise", he didn't practice Friday. It was my job to babysit Westbrooks status all weekend, it was my opponents just to babysit Donte's.

:goodposting: you need to end your membership... this is what happens when this country let's kids grow up soft.
