Did matt jones practice friday (1 Viewer)

Matt Jones-WR-Jaguars Sep. 22 - 5:33 pm et

Matt Jones (questionable, groin) missed practice again on Friday.

Jones will most likely be inactive for Sunday's contest with the Colts. It makes Reggie Williams and Ernest Wilford both fantasy plays to consider this week against Indianapolis' smallish corners.

per rotoworld.

According to Rototimes:

Matt Jones (WR)

9/22: Matt Jones missed another practice Friday and is considered a game-time decision Sunday at Indianapolis. He's battling a sore groin.

The dreadine GTD. :wall:

Depending on how this and Ahman Green's scenario play out, Reggie Williams and Gregg Jennings may have a better look about them come Sunday.

Matt Jones being a gtd should not have ANYBODY banging their head against a wall. Start somebody else. ANd if he's the best you've got, you have bigger worries than him being out a game.

LOL. Matt Jones is an excellent #3 receiver. He's on pace for 1150 yards. If you have him as a #3 you are thinking playoffs right now.

14 team league and the owner isn't too worried about him missing a game. The hype is there but the numbers aren't. Lets not pretend that this guy is a top wr. Not even close. He's not even the top wr on his team.

He's my #4 in one league, #3 in another. I'm not too worried, as I have depth, but Jones would have been a great play this week IMO, so I'm disapointed. He's the #28 and #34 WR in those leagues, so your "ANd if he's the best you've got, you have bigger worries than him being out a game." is way off base.

Are you nuts? Have you ever heard of a bye week? 1. Anquan Boldin 2. Randy Moss - BYE 3. Donald Driver 4. Matt Jones 5. Greg Jennings This my slate of WR's in a start 3 WR/12 team redraft. I probably have the best set of WR's in my league and the availability of Matt Jones is big news to me.

Yeah, your comment exposes your inexperience or perhaps you just didn't think things though. Yes, I agree with some of the other posts - bye weeks, match-ups, and injuries can factor into starting decisions. In my case I have a runningback in the top 3 and my RB4 on bye, WR2 on questionable status with a very tough match-up, and then there is Jones who is my WR3. All of that tends to thin the ranks a bit and makes flex decisions difficult.

Am i the only one who thinks this helps Wilford and actually hurts Williams?

Reggie was gettin his looks regardless of Jones... and he was probably recieving less attention because defenses had to account for Jones' playmaking ability.

I think Wilford won't get as many looks as Jones, so Williams might get an extra 3 or 4 targets... but he might also have more of the coverage swung his way.

I'm starting him regardless this week... but i'd personally prefer to see the Jags WR corps at full strengths... so i'm tempering expectations a tad.

:loco:

Is this the same groin injury that he was suffering last week? Or did he re-injure it or has it gotten worse? Last week he was able to play through and though he looked a little slower, he had a couple of incomplete targets that could've meant TDs. He did miss a lot of practice this week. Can that rest help him or missing that many practices mean the injury is more serious than being reported?

Many can submit roster changes up until game time, so if the GTD comes early enough, do you start him if he plays?
