I see THC drinks are on the verge of being banned in the USA (more of that freedom I always hear so much about), is there any real reason for this to be happening aside from "oops, didn't mean for those to be legal!"?

What's this? Is this part of the talk to ban hemp products? I assume this doesn't affect legal state products?

I came across it in brewery forums I frequent, a lot of brewers pivoted to these drinks to combat declining alcohol sales and are really scrambling now (see video below).

Yeah, I'm sure big alcohol is lobbying against hemp products, but then as you mention a lot of brewers and distributors, mostly small scale have probably embraced thc to diversify as alcohol sales continue to drop.

Up here, we do have separation between THC and Alcohol products in theory. My brewery can't just start selling THC drinks.

Of course the larger companies through subsidiaries and partnerships and purchases still manage to find a way, so we end up with "Mollo" thc shelters, beers, etc... it's just Molson, which of course is all part of Coors.

The big brewers probably need to make sure they can lock down the US market before they drop their opposition.

Minnesota allowed it to happen, do both at the same location. One of our long time buds here Tip Top works at a big brewery in Minneapolis and we visited him this summer and got a tour of the brewery. It was incredible to see how much of the operation and resources had switched to producing THC drinks. They are going to be ****ed if this goes through.

So in Minnesota breweries can sell hemp derived products direct to consumer on location? Here in Michigan any hemp or Marijuana products have to be purchased at a licensed distributor for thc i believe.

I'd say when you start turning into a cat a break is in order.

I'm overdo for one myself. Thc helps so much with my allergies in the evenings, but with winter pretty much here that's much less of an issue.

In states where cannabis is legal, the THCA workaround allows any old rando to throw a THCA product on liquor store shelves, gas station, smoke shop, etc. I own a cannabis business. I cannot sell my legal, regulated THC products in those same stores.

So they don't go thru the same regulation, start up costs, red tape etc. THC drinks are allowed to be purchased in a dispensary, it's closing the loophole that allows THCA drinks anywhere because they aren't THC.

Clearly, I am biased. But this current loophole, It punishes business owners who want to do the right thing, allowing the THCA workaround. And I would say that the GREAT thing about weed being federally illegal, it means that each state has their own business ecosystem. Each state has new weed businesses, and the jobs and money are spread out among the states.
