Different Technique to Mocking... (1 Viewer)

I asked my self, "Self... Lets mix it up a bit this time" So I used a different technique for this mock, and I stuck to it.

I said I would go by this order:

RD Position

1 RB

2 RB

3 WR

4 WR

5 QB

6 RB/WR

7 RB/WR

8 QB

9 RB/WR

10 RB/WR

11 TE

12 D

13 TE

14 D

15 K

16 K

this is what I came up with:

QB Tom Brady NE

QB Kurt Warner ARI

RB Carnell Williams TB

RB Reggie Bush NO

RB Ron Dayne DEN

RB Derrick Blaylock NYJ

WR Chris Chambers MIA

WR Donald Driver GB

WR Chad Jackson NE

WR Antwaan Randle El WAS

TE Kellen Winslow Jr CLE

TE Marcus Pollard DET

K Jeff Wilkens STL

K Jason Hanson DET

D New England Patriots

D Philadelphia Eagles

what do you think?

RB's are a little weak after Caddy and you are a little shaky at TE. Rest of the team is pretty solid - particularly at QB and WR. Is this a twelve teamer?

Yes 12 teams... and it was either Reggie Bush or Kevin Jones and I still have that bad taste in my mouth from K.J. last season so thats how i got Bush.

Isn't this called the stud RB approach? You didn't do anything different than almost everyone else in fantasy football.....sorry, not trying to bust on you but this is the same system I have used for about 8 years now.....

Honestly I don't really like it. QB is good but you're not deep at RB, WR or TE. Not so bad though. Could fight for a playoff spot.

I agree, I don't like that team at all- and I'm the guy who's so high on Dayne that I drafted him in the third. I feel like you somehow managed to walk out of the draft without a single stud, and that would be a scary thing to me.

Of course, a lot of my hesitation about your team comes because I'm not a big fan of Reggie Bush, I'm not a big fan of Caddy Williams, I'm not a big fan of Chambers, and I'm not a big fan of Chad Jackson. It's just a disagreement among our rankings, more than anything.

Is this a roster restricted league? Meaning so many RBs, WRs, TEs, etc. If it's not I have no idea why you're wasting roster spots on a second K or DEF. Not enough info here imo.

The predraft order makes this eh because it's not so challenging. If you went 4 RBs to open or 2 RBs 5 WRs....I guess I'd want something a lil' crafty to the order.

Just the same, why did you pick that order?

May I suggest an order to try?

RB WR WR WR RB TE TE QB QB QB RB RB

IMO doubling up is very underrated in this hobby. Usual reaction is what's the point? or why bother? etc. Well....try it

This year, unless you're picking very late, I just don't like RB RB. I feel like you can get a 3rd round RB (taylor, Dunn, Bush, Dillon) who could all outproduce JJ, KJ, Parker, Lewis.

I personally like

RB

WR

RB

WR

WR/QB/TE (brady is tempting, so is shokey/gonzo)

Get a top 5-6 RB, top 5 WR, top 5 QB, top 5 TE. Then you can fill the rest in.

I dont know why a second QB in the 8th round when there is alot of good ones out there in the 10th.

I am not big on this team. Unlike SSOG who likes Dayne in your RB's, I dont like any of them. I feel a QB like Favre is just as good as Warner and could be gotten later. To me you did what most do but reached for a second QB and wasted time on second K and D.

I never limit myself to any one position in any round. You must have a feel for the flow of the draft and select best available. Of course making sure to have enough at each position.

Is the name of your team 'If'?Dayne and Blaylock?! can you take a mulligan on these two and/or get a 'do over' on your selections? Cedric Houston is going to be the #2 here in NY, and Dayne couldn't be the best man in a brothel with a fistful of $20s, but, he's another big 'if' player. He could be good in Denver this year, if....

I like the QB's, Brady especially, and Warner, with that talent around him, should excel.. IF he doesn't get hurt, that is...

Winslow has 2 pro games to his credit..he hasn't seen the field in 2 years..lots of upside there, but if you're not in a keeper, selecting Winslow is a reach..

not busting your chops about your selections, there seems to be a high level of risk involved on your roster..sometimes, drafts dictate that kind of selecting with who's taken ahead of you and so forth..

good wr's , Jackson is a bit of a reach..highly productive rookie WR's are hard to come by..

you're weak at TE and lack depth at RB , but , the rest of the team looks solid.
