GREAT capture!Had another trip to Australia recently and took the SLR. While I was happy to have the 18-200mm with me to get both landscapes and close-ups (kangaroos, cockatiels), I was disappointed at my composition skills once I saw the photo collection.
Bird This was on one of my walks - not in a zoo.

Very nice captures!

great work. I like the last one the best. You caught a great day out there and did a nice job mixing up the compositions.Well my favorite spot for Fall colors did not disappoint..![]()

"Here I wait" is awesome, that bird doesn't seem rattled at all by the pending water.
Also really liked the perspective that you got with "Autumn Bridge", nice work on that, the leaves really sold the story too.
as for the bold part.. Got a few strange looks as I laid there waiting for people to clear the bridge. But in the end it was worth it.Excellent shots Snogger - Hazy is my favorite but they are all VERY nice.A few shots from a hike in Willow River State park.

Nice lighting

I like these twoDid you mean to get the side lighting in the black eye picture. It works for me
Thanks! I did mean to catch that light, I noticed it in the classroom (one wall is all windows) and called him over for the shot. Cleopatra is in the same light, only she's kneeling under most of it. It's natural lighting, so something of a happy accident, but if it works in the final shot it counts.I like these twoDid you mean to get the side lighting in the black eye picture. It works for me
Im going to an Adorama presentation on the 15th. Excited to hear what they have to say. I think it is on lighting but cant remember now. There were a few I wanted to sign up for
I find that you are great capturing all of the urban shots. I try to see what you see but fail. You have a great eye. I still love that bridge shot. Thanks for posting (but I get updates since we are contacts on flickr)
Wonderful composition here, pant. The balance is near perfect and the eye is nicely carried around the image without ever getting lost or stranded. Bravo, bud!pantagrapher said:

I 2nd this. It's funny how you can have an eye for one type of shot but not so much for another.... I just can't seem to "see" the urban shots well. You on the other hand obviously do..... Outstanding shots. VERY nicely done! Yosemite is definitely on my list of places to hike.Hey Guys
I've just returned from an epic trek on the John Muir Trail - 12 days of walking 150 miles at high elevation. I shot about 1200 photos and some of them really turned out nice.
Check out my trip report if you have time!
