Dion Lewis (1 Viewer)

All my RBs are on bye this week except for D-Low, Sharc and Tevin "lost my job to a rib injury" Coleman. He plays if active or I will be picking up some scrub by the weekend..

Belichick asked how Dion Lewis looked in practice. "We didn't really practice this week. A lot of us could have got through practice." "My mom could have got through practice."
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I love having this guy coach my team so much. His shenanigans are annoying for fantasy purposes, but damn if he's not the best coach in the game. He doesn't give a #### about our fantasy teams... he wants to win every Sunday. Anything less is a failure.... and sometimes winning is a failure. Dude is a machine.

I am sitting him for, gulp, Gore. Even if he is active. Not enough practice and he obviously isn't 100%. Pats will be rolling out another game plan.

Welcome to the Pats run game. It was fun while it lasted with Lewis. FWIW I'm planning on starting him over Antonio Andrews in one league, sitting him for Lacy in another.

Brady said he was a big part of the gameplan going into the Jets game but was a last minute inactive.

He will be in the same spot this week, he will either be a big part of the offense or literally wont be playing. Imo.

Right now I have him sitting...flexing John Brown ahead of him (Woodhead and Miller at RB ahead of him for now). PPR

Sitting him in another behind L. Murray and Charc with Mike Evans at flex in a non-ppr.

Also important to note that Lewis is a limited participant and is questionable.

The Pats currently have 3 players who did not participate are doubtful.

The dude is injured, this isn't the typical BB crap.
 you'll learn there are a few folks who will dog Patriots without any sort of rationale behind it. Thankfully most of the folks on the forums are aware of this and ignore their reads on Pats players.

PPR ranks by week he's played:

W1: RB15

W2: RB3

W3: RB17

W5: RB8

W6: RB34 (one slot behind ADP at RB33) - Owners knew going in it was likely going to be a Blount-heavy script vs the soft Indy run D. (read the thread)

Outside of injury, he's been damn solid. On a PPG basis he's RB10.

If you read the thread, it's clear that many thought that Lewis would defy the "blount-heavy script" idea. Even, after the game, the reasoning for his poor showing was blamed on the injury, not a "blount script."

He's had 2 weeks where he was a RB1, 2 weeks where he was a RB2, and one week when he was dinged up. His numbers are similar to other RBs in his tier. As has been stated, (if healthy), he's a RB1 in PPR, RB2 in standard. In PPR, he will be more consistent because of his receptions, and in non-PPR his production will fluctuate more; he just doesn't get the carries necessary to make him as consistent in that format.

For anyone wanting a current price check, just shipped Adbullah and Moncrief for Lewis in a PPR league. The trade partner was a struggling team that lost Foster and needed to fill byes at RB2 and FLEX without much left on the WW so take that into account if you're looking to make an offer. I'm doing well in this league so I have the ability for him sit on my bench for a while and see if he's putting up RB1 numbers at playoff time. If nothing else I kept him from being dealt to any RB needy playoff competitor even if I never start him.

Why is nobody talking about how ####### awful the pats running game was without him? Blount didn't even end the day with positive yards. I could not be any more enthusiastic about Lewis. Blount will get some work but he is showing over and over that he is good for one thing, running the clock on bad defenses. The pats saw last week what life without Dion is (and yes, that the jets are good too) andit was ugly. If he goes, I'm firing him up all day every day
It wasnt awful. They didnt run because they knew nobody can run on the Jets so why bother?
Ryan Mathews did this year.

Is it odd that I read the quote as a positive? BB wants MIA to think Lewis is no bigger a threat than his own mother.. great smokescreen.

In all seriousness, I'm benching him regardless despite having almost nothing behind him. I won't be around when they announce inactives so I simply an't take the risk.

You should know by now, there's no room for nuance in the shark pool. Everything is black and white..either a player sucks balls and shouldn't occupy an NFL roster spot or is the greatest player at his skill position to every play the game.

I am in the same boat. Think I am going to start L. Murray ahead of him, though I may change my mind last minute tonight. Luckily starting my other RB is a no brainer---D. Freeman!!!

Well, the whole "treating injury info as state secrets" thing kind of is the typical BB crap.

+1

Damn, I can totally see Blount w/ 20+ carries tonight in this one. Power RBs have gouged the 'Phins badly.
The philbin phins,

This is a different team

I see BB not wanting Suh killing brady

D Lewis Checkdown time

So far the Adage has been true

Blount vs bad dline

Lewis vs Good dline

If Lewis is active I think both get theirs. Brady has thrown the ball like 120 times the last two weeks. If Lewis is inactive I don't think they will lean on Blount.

Brady also said he didn't know anything about deflated balls.

He also said "I do" to Giselle so his judgement seems sound.

I'm surprised at the responses of starting Lewis over Gore if active. Right now I have him on the bench with Gore, Stewart and Gio starting in front of him. I am very leery after the Indy game and being inactive last week. Hard to believe he's going to jump back in and tear things up.

I don't have this choice but I'd likely go Lewis over Gore in all formats. Real bad matchup for Indy this week and I'm not sure they'll run it effectively. If they can't run they don't seem to use Gore at all so he could get phased out like we saw last week. There are no snap count concerns for Lewis if he plays in my opinion. Even in the Indy game where his touches were down he was on the field a lot just like he always has been.

Gore at CAR is not a really bad matchup. Carolina gives up yards on the ground.

Even if Lewis goes the upside is limited IMO. the downside is another week of 4 or less points. I hope he sits, frankly.

ETA: I guess he is playing.

Interesting to see the reluctance to play a Top 10 RB. I get the concern over health but I would expect Lewis owners to be rejoicing to get him back tonight. I know I am.

I guess the problem for me, is that I want to see him healthy before plugging him back in. I would rather him have 20 on my bench than 2 in my lineup

I have other options which makes it a more difficult decision

As of now, I have him in the flex over John Brown. I have Charknado and Freeman as my RBs

It looks like everyone on twitter is going with the narrative that NE sat him vs. NYJ to get him healthy for MIA. I guess there's a chance that the short week really did weigh heavily in NE's decision to sit him. There's a chance the injury isn't as bad as we think.

He was expected to play against the Jets so the hope would be the extra days of rehab did what the team hoped it would to get him healthy.

1. It is New England

2. He was limited in the Indy game with the same injury. (And some to scheme)

Those with safer options I think are just in prove it to me mode.

No. 1 has been discussed and in my opinion refuted quite strongly in this thread.

No. 2 - his touches were down in the Indy game but his snap count was the same as usual.

Like I said, I get the concerns about health but he's been a Top 10 RB in PPR this season and is a key part of arguably the best offense in the league. As long as he's active he's locked into my lineup every week. Just my two cents.

Not really asking. Just venting. Coaching errors have plagued me this season. :wall:

My hesitance, like others here is when you have other good options (for me he would replace Sr., Cooper, Diggs, or DT since everyone cares) and the fear of an injury smokescreen first game back or coaching trickery, etc. Probably overthinking it...
