I am totally AMAZED at the gall of people here defending this blatant show of disrespect.
Aren't these guys supposed to be role models for youth? Yeah, I get it, they're pro athletes first and darn good ones, as evidenced on the field. No one's saying take a knee or punt on first down, but when the game is so obviously over as it was, to go for it on 4th down is, plain and simple, a classless move. It's a "F" you, I don't care what you think, we'll show you what we're all about, type of move, which is disappointing coming from a team that was the epitome of "CLASS" for so many years.
It's one thing to dominate a game and win it, going away. I don't have a problem with 52-7. I'm a Dolphins fan and I didn't have a problem with the 62-7 whoopin' they took to the Jags in the playoffs a few years back. But the difference is that the Jags played it straight up and the Fins just couldn't stop the run. That's what classy teams do when they're up by a ton. Run the ball. It's not taking a knee and it's not punting on 4th, but the "unwritten" rule is to kill the clock as fast as possible, avoid injuries and come out with dignity and the "W". Unfortunately for the Pats, that's not the case this year and I fear that Karma will come and bite 'em sooner than later.
