Why should this be banned? this is meant to be a serious critique. If you disagree with me, say so. Those of you calling me a whiner should look at yourselves in the mirror, though
He meant ban you...and I agree.
I'm new to this site, I admit. Some of my threads have been meant as satire; this one was meant to be serious. But why should I be banned? I haven't said anything offensive, to the best of my knowledge.
That's the problem, you have no knowledge. Most of the threads you start are blatant fishing trips to rile people up.Now go away.
I have not insulted you once, or anyone here. Yet you continue to insult me. Who should be banned, anyway?
In case I wasn't clear...you should be banned. Fishing trips are frowned upon and that's all you want to do. You start anti-Patriots threads all the time just to piss people off.

New England has NO CLASS. Belicheck is a POS. Score is 38-0 and they go for it on 4th down when they could kick a FG. WTF?

I would love to see a defensive player say screw it and haul off and break Brady's leg after a play is over in this situation......

There is no need for NE to be running up the score....this is not college football......

I know there is irony in this post.

Correct its professional football. You guys cant be serious about this stuff. Since when has it been acceptable for a professional to let up in anything? Think Jay Leno doesnt want to beat Lettermans as badly as he can ? How about a salesman who doesnt doesnt want to out sell is competitor because... "hey thats not nice". You guys gotta grow up, as I said this isnt highschool and we arent dealing with little kiddies here. These are big boys that are being paid very very well to play a big boy sport. If they cant handle it get off the field. Its rather clear where some of you guys would be.

Did Gibbs just run off w/o shaking Belichik's hand?
Of course he did. Why would you acknowledge such a classless act like what the Pats did in this game?I can't believe all the people defending the Pats in this thread. I'm astonished by it.The fact that one of the most respected people in NFL history made such a bold statement by not shaking BB's hand should speak volumes to how classless this was.

there are so many bad analogies in this thread justifying the Pats obvious lack of class.

"Should they just lay down?" No, kick a field goal and settle for a 41-0 lead.

First of all, it would've been a 54-yard field goal, exceeding Gostkowski's career long. Going for the 4th-and-short is a much higher percentage play. Most teams will go for it in this situation regardless of score and time.Second, how is kicking a field goal any better than going for it? They're still trying to add needless points to the score. The only other option is punt from the 37, basically a useless play. The only way you could think they should punt is if you think they shouldn't be trying to advance the ball at all, in which case they should just punt on first down.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That post was complete non-sense.

Pats score 52, and Skins score only 7. But, it is absolutely clear that Gibbs comes out of this game in much higher esteem than Belichick.Doesn't help the W/L record, but it's notable, still. The defense of what happened is laughable. Pats fans are somehow supporting a monster team and still coming off as a punchline.

Belechick doesn't owe these coaches anything. He's doing them a favor by exploiting every weakness they have on their team to the max. Stop hating.

Those of you who complain about the Pats throwing the ball in the 4th quarter are the same kind of people who would complain about paying $85 for a ticket but only getting to see Tom Brady for 3 quarters because of a blowout.

It's the NFL, pro football.

Not that it will affect the Pats this year, but some of the NFLs playoff tie-breakers involve points scored.

They didn't need to punt the ball on first down. But they don't need to pass the ball nonstop nor do they need to go for it on fourth and short instead of simply kicking the field goal.

what do you expect? Just like their fans and boston in general they are nothing but POS.
That is a strong statement to make as Boston sports teams have taken it on the chin for many many many years. The Patriots were the laughing stock of the league not that long ago. The Red Sox went almost a century without winning a World Series and now things are falling their way. People hated the Celtics when they were winning, up until this off season nobody cared about them nor did anyone consider them any sort of threat. This type of feeling comes from the New England teams winning. I have waited a long time for championships from both of the teams and can deal with folks not liking them because of it. You can hate the team, the players and the coaches and some of the fans but to make a statement like that is ridiculous and does nothing but show me just how jealous and ignorant you are. I hated the Cowboys during the heyday, I hated the Yankees during their run (actually still hate them), but I did not make uninformed generalizations about the city or the fans.
I am a Cowboy fan and don't ever remember them running up the score like that. Ever! And by the way, that was during an era when there were REAL dynasties. I used to root for NE, but after the last few weeks, I loathe them as much as I hated Oakland in the 70s. This is unprofessional and they have managed to vilify themselves irrevocably, in my eyes.

The Patriots can rub it in all they want, that's their right. But having Brady run a QB sneak on 4th down up by 38 or whatever they were up at the time was just plain stupid.

good one. you're right...the Letterman/Leno analogy was spot on.
You are right it is. Its about what you do for a living and doing it to your best. Its about having pride in everything you do. What do you do for a living?? Do let up when you are doing well at something? Is it acceptable ?EDIT -- Do you think the Redskins were more mad at the Patriots for how they played or more upset with themselves?

obviously no one in their right mind would be punting in this situation. The Pats should have gone for the field goal.

I am totally AMAZED at the gall of people here defending this blatant show of disrespect.

Aren't these guys supposed to be role models for youth? Yeah, I get it, they're pro athletes first and darn good ones, as evidenced on the field. No one's saying take a knee or punt on first down, but when the game is so obviously over as it was, to go for it on 4th down is, plain and simple, a classless move. It's a "F" you, I don't care what you think, we'll show you what we're all about, type of move, which is disappointing coming from a team that was the epitome of "CLASS" for so many years.

It's one thing to dominate a game and win it, going away. I don't have a problem with 52-7. I'm a Dolphins fan and I didn't have a problem with the 62-7 whoopin' they took to the Jags in the playoffs a few years back. But the difference is that the Jags played it straight up and the Fins just couldn't stop the run. That's what classy teams do when they're up by a ton. Run the ball. It's not taking a knee and it's not punting on 4th, but the "unwritten" rule is to kill the clock as fast as possible, avoid injuries and come out with dignity and the "W". Unfortunately for the Pats, that's not the case this year and I fear that Karma will come and bite 'em sooner than later.

I see I had the wrong play. Still, same logic applies except for the first point.

I dont believe that a team should just shut down when they are up by whatever points, but there is a way to do it and a way not to do it. How not to do it will never be discovered by Bi-chick, becasue he is too full of himself. He needs to go back to his days in Cleveland, and think...He is the no class act, not the team.

Let it go. The Patriots are going to do what they're doing. And most of their fans are going to love it. Just let it go.

Or start these in the Free For All from now on.
