Here are how my 3 leagues do it, with some comments:
League 1 - Everyone bids a dollar amount on a player. The last bid to come with a higher amount for the same player with a 7:59 time stamp is awarded that player. I like this because then it is not a "luck of the draw" issue. If I really wanted a particular player, then I should have bid more!
League 2 - We go worst to first. Positive on this is that it keeps the league competitive. Negatives are that why should you award a team that didn't draft as well as others did?
League 3 - I HATE this one. Simply a first-come, first-serve. It's "luck of the draw". There is enough luck in fantasy football, if you admit it or not (took me 3 years too). It would be okay if evened itself out over the course of the season, but the same guy seems to be getting whoever he wants!
