***Divisonal Round Playoff Game Thread*** (1 Viewer)

P.S. - if he falls to the late 3rd, and if they are smart, a guy like Jason (??) Hester from LSU would be perfect for their team.

So now, if a QB throws a pass, and it lands three yards behind him, it is an incomplete pass, not a fumble? Interesting.
If the perception is that the pass was for a screen pass, they don't call it a fumble - it's been like that for a few years.

Pollard is awful.

No way in hell Green Bay wastes a pick on a running back.

Records are nice but I think Grant is done. No sense risking it in these conditions.

Less chance of injury in these conditions - you slip instead of sticking in the ground and potentially becoming injured. But, you are right. Grant should be done for the day.

Well, we have a ways to go before the Pats game. I'm off to grab some whiskey. Congrats Pack fans. Sorry 'hawks fans.

I am 1/4 of the way to both my tease and my parley.

Great game by the Pack. Favre, Grant and Jennings are going to get some well deserved credit for their efforts, but that game was won by the OL and the D. The Seahawks front 7 is very, very good and this GB OL swamped them and completely took them out of the game. Makes me think this Ol is very very good. Grant had holes you could drive through and Facre had time to wait for someone to break free from what was pretty good coverage most of the game. And with his Favre touch he put it in where his guy had a shot, despite the coverage. Some poor tackling, especially on the potential sacks, a dropped INT, a few slips by CBs and the vicious and vile return of the dropsies for the Seahawks receivers made this a good ol whipping. I can't stand it, but that's what it was. Seahawks could've made it a game, but let it slip (literally) through their fingers. If there's any team I feel "ok"* about losing to, it's a team with Favre being Favre (as long as KoRo had nothing to do with it). That's a very good GB team and should romp either of the two teams they might play next week if they play like they did today.

* ok is a very relative term. It in no way implies anything good, just less vomitous.

They just gave you the explanation on the screen pass play - it jibes with mine.
I dont think you gave much of an explanation at all. WHY? I didnt hear the explanation from the announcers. Enlighten me.

They said that ,in the rule book, if the QB is stepping forward (not sideways), and his body id forward oriented then it's a forward pass even if the ball goes backwards. Never heard of that before, but if it's in the book it was a good call by the refs to recognize that.

If that is the case, it doesnt seem to have much to do with the play being a screen. :thumbdown:Thanks for the explanation. Although I think it makes the call on the field too subjective. Much like the "Tuck" rule.

Wow. That Packer team that showed up today was good. Really good. I'm crying in my beer over here, and my wife is wisely leaving me alone, but my 'hawks just flat got whooped today by a better team.

gll to GB next week. I'd love to seem them win it all.

Just got back from Lambeau. I've been to a lot of Packer games, and that was easily the most fun I've ever had. Also easily the LOUDEST I've been heard it at Lambeau. :boxing:

Ryan Grant yesterday>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ryan Grant today.
:pickle:

Bigby is playing the game of his life. Guy gets no respect.
he's not well respected because he makes too many mistakes in coverage, misses his fair share of tackles and always tries to go for the knockout hit instead of just getting the guy down

I believe it is Jacob Hester and he is not going to be much more than a 3rd down back in the NFL. Packers have 3 solid RBs coming back next year so some really good RB would have to fall to them to pick one in the first 3 rounds. They might take one late as a return guy. Those posting that Sea lost the game are in denial. Teams win games when they score on six straight possesions.

You can start the Seattle didn't win that game...Green Bay lost it talk.
Green Bay didn't win this game so much as Seattle lost it
You're nuts! Did you not watch the game? Did you not watch the Packers score 6 straight times? Did you not watch the Packers take over and outscore Seattle 42-6 after the Hawks went up 14-0? Did you not notice the Packers doubled up the number of total yards gained? Did you not notice the Packers controlled the ball for 34 minutes?

Seattle looked good early, GB responded and Seattle didn't.Next year we need CB's, O linemen and maybe safeties.
