***Divisonal Round Playoff Game Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Dallas just sucked today as they had the last 4 weeks of the season.
 Dallas hasn't looked good in weeks.
They basically dominated the Giants in the first half.. That being said they didn't step up defensively but the offense was moving the ball with ease. The cowboys totally got away from running the ball but penalties makes it hard to run when you have 1st and 20.But they didn't play the entire game and I'd have to agree... :pickle:And yea, for all the BS crayton talks he sure didnt back it up today for the most part

They kept going to that well too even though it wasn't working. Glenn was back, even saw Miles break free on that long one. Phillips should have sat him down and said "just not your day Patrick"

See, Tony, you really could have used that vacation NOW.

Awesome job by the Giants defense. I wonder if they'll be healthy enough for the next game. I wouldn't count the Giants out but Green Bay must be liking their chances.

Eli finally outperformed Peyton...huh

Peyton had 400 yards and 3 TDs. His team outperformed Peyton's, but I wouldn't say Eli outperformed Peyton.

The Romo & TO interviews were awesome. Yes, TO was classy. They Cowboys do have the most talent in the NFC, IMO, but the best team doesn't always win. Props to the Giants.

Dallas should easily be the favorite to be back in the same position next year & something tells me they'll get it right.

Dallas beat themselves.

Too many penalties

####ty kick coverage

Offensive line went AWOL in the 2nd half

No screens or draws were called all night to slow down the blitz

Too many drops

Romo forced too many plays

and I have no ####### clue why Dallas didn't try to throw a few plays underneath the deep coverage in the 4th quarter. why try to shove the thing in the endzone from 25-30 yds out when you can dink and dunk to the 10 and take your chances there when you don't need 4-5 seconds to find a receiver.

Even in the end...nobody could beat them, except themselves! :goodposting: This is why I Love  Cowboy fans.

I love it when a fan says, "my team beat themselves," rather than just admitting that the other team was better than them and deserved to win.

Bottom line: The Giants outplayed the Cowboys.

The Cowboys had the ball twice in the last several minutes, and with good field position both times, yet they couldn't get it done. The Giants deserved every bit of that win.

Thats not how i took it. Giants out played them and deserved the win. Cowboys played poorly, not sure how anyone can deny that. You dont have that many penalties at home and give up a TD drive with 47 seconds and say. "Damn, we played great" ;)

Spin it however you wish, but New York had a very solid defensive gameplan AND DALLAS PLAYED RIGHT INTO THEIR HANDS. Dallas is a better team overall but they didn't play at their potential today.

Whats up with the idiot Giants yapping about how "nobody gave them a chance" against dallas? All i've heard all week from everywhere was how they were gonna win?

And people thought the Pats had 'lost it' because the Giants played them so tough. Guess they're just a good team at this point in the season.
i wouldn't go so far as to call them a good teamtheir defensive back 7 is average and beat-up. Manning is the QB, Plax is banged up and not playing 100%. Dallas just sucked today as they had the last 4 weeks of the season.
Yep, I guess having that momentum does mean something after all doesn't it..
Maybe that is why BB has the Pats play all 4 quarters?
 I've been saying this for months.
Haven't the Pats rested their starters week 17 in past years?

That is the mantra of every team in professional sports these days. If Dallas had won, they would have yapped about how everyone on ESPN and the net was picking the Giants, how Romo was being criticized for his vacation, etc. The "disrespect" card gets played by anyone and everyone WAY too often now.

Sorry, but your wrong. The Giants clearly outplayed the Cowboys today.Opposing defenses seem to have figured the Cowboys out over the last month or so.

I wouldnt have a problem if the Charger players were saying this after the game with the Colts because all week long everyone was predicting the colts. But for the Giants to say this it makes them look like idiots? I guess they didnt watch TV all week because most of the so-called experts were predicting them to win.

They're "so-called experts" because they were right?

They are so-called experts because they are on TV talking about football and we are not. I used the word "so-called' because they are wrong just as often as me. lol

Congrats to the Giants. They played good enough to win and deserve it. They took advantage of Dallas penalties and mistakes. Eli didn't do anything stupid and the D made all the right adjustments in the 2nd half. Congrats and good luck in the next round.

That said...I am completely sick about Dallas. The long drives, controlling the clock, the overall stats. Everything point to a Dallas win. But they just could not seal the deal. This does not fall at the feet of one player. Mexico didn't mess up Romo. TO showed up and contributed, MBIII was a beast in the first half. They just made mistakes when you couldn't. Too many dropped balls, too many stupid penalties.

The offseason should be interesting. The team is young. The core is in place. They have money under the cap to spend and should have an impact with the draft. Tonight I drink and drink and drink. I watch the rest of the playoffs like everyone else, and then on Feb. 4th, I start looking to next season.

T-Rom, J-Wit, P-Cra, MBIII, A-Hen, T-New, D-War, TO, N-Fol, A-Fas.....thanks for an enjoyable season. 13-4 made for many an enjoyable evening here.

It's not often that a defensive line gets dominated by a larger offensive line for over a half, and then responds with a pass rush that comes out of nowhere which essentially saves the game for the Giants.

I really hate being positive, but :goodposting:

I'll give Owens props for playing hurt today and giving it every thing he could, but for him to say that he has had the back of every QB he has ever had is one of the biggest crocks of you-know-what I have ever heard. Owens needs to remember that he has brought on most of the criticism that has been thrown his way through his own selfish and destructive behavior.

AFAIC, the outcome of this game falls squarely on the Cowboys' OLine. They just disappeared in the second half. They couldn't protect Romo, they couldn't keep the running game going which had utterly dominated in the first half, and they committed penalty after penalty to keep the Giants in a game that they probably should've been blown out of. Between the Giants' decimated secondary, their inability to stop the run in the first half, and the bevy of Cowboys weapons, this one shouldn't have been close. Next week against Green Bay I expect this to be exposed.

And I'm a Giants fan.

Twice Dallas tried to call a screen and the Giants blew it up (that I saw). In fact, in the 4th Q, the play that Romo tried to throw to his left and rolled to his right and broke tackles and should have thrown away, but instead took a sack was a screen play that the Giants blew up.This was a tremendous win for the Giants. It is really amazing when you consider how banged up they are. They were playing Pope as the CB (a guy who they just picked up and had never played for them) in key spots. Kawika Mitchell who is mediocre when healthy is banged up and was awful all game. Plax was useless, plus no Shockey, no Madison and no Dockery and then Ross went down. I am shocked the Giants won, but they deserved it. Great job by Coughlin and his staff. Also, maybe this will shut up all the Eli bashers. He is an above average QB whether he would have won or not this week. He has some flaws (like all QB's), but the guy has heart and has taken a beating for this team and keeps playing hard.BTW, up yours Tiki Barber

I (and several others) said Dallas was headed for a rough game this week due to poor play recently. Dallas fans just wrote it off. "We can turn it on when we need too. Those games didn't matter. We were 13-3." Etc and so on. But is goes to prove, you want to go in to the playoffs on a high, playing well, playing crisp. Dallas did none of those things and it caught up to them.

Great game yesterday, props to the Boys for a great season. That said, no sympathy here for TO & Crayton. They got what they deserved for running their mouths. Message to these guys:

Getcha popcorn ready for the Giants/Pack!!!!
