I didn't see anything posted; I know most leagues are done for the year, but I am not, since Hackett practiced,is it a safe bet that he plays,if for no other reason than to shake off the rust?......I am pretty desperate with Marvin and Roy on my bench, and a gimpy Jennings that I see no chance of playing.

I'm not sure. I have a week 17 championship game but I think I will go with Colston and Cotchery ahead of him.the guy has it all and Hass does tend to look for him regularly but I think the Hawks will keep him to a few plays only to avoid the risk of a re injury in a meaningless game. More importantly, Seneca waalace is likely to play most of the game at QB. I dont like him at all and can see him killing his receivers numbers. Burleson is probably the best play here this week, but even as a homer I cant get too excited.Avoid.Weaver is the sneaky play this week.

Hackett was Wallace's favorite target when Hass went down last year. They played together on the second team for years and had a good rapport. I doubt he plays much, if at all, but if he does Wallace can and will get him the ball. But I hope he doesn't play to rest the ankle.

Thanks ms.

These are all I could find:

(Rotoworld) Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren says he'd like for D.J. Hackett to see some playing time Sunday. Hackett is not on the Week 17 injury report.

Impact: How much exactly he plays will be determined by how he makes it through practice this week. Hackett did get some late-week work in last Friday, and his absence from the injury report means he'll probably play a few series.

(KFFL) Seattle Seahawks WR D.J. Hackett (ankle) practiced Wednesday, Dec. 26, and will play in Week 17.

Will he continue to develop and will he be the #1 or #2 option in SEA next year? I forsee a potent passing attack again next year and wonder what you all think about him? He is already on my board for next year...

I found this interesting too:

(Rotoworld) Seahawks rookie WR Courtney Taylor worked with the first-team offense on Wednesday.

Impact: Usual second-team FB David Kirtman and OL Ray Willis also ran with the first unit. The Seahawks appear to be getting their young backups ready to play in Week 17, although it won't be clear how much until game day. Despite coach Mike Holmgren saying he'll use his starters a lot against Atlanta, there's reason to believe that won't happen if Seattle jumps out to a lead.

Hey Sweeney you're plugged into the Hawks. Is Hackett a UFA & if so, do you think he tests the market or stays put?

I believe he is an UFA. I dunno how he'll treat the market but his limited playing time this season might lower his perceived value and make it a slam dunk that the Hawks will have the best offer for him. The Hawks know what they have with him, and they know Burleson is not the #2 guy they want starting every week. I think the chances are much better that he's a Seahawk than him being anywhere else. They've been developing him from his rookie year on the practice squad and has really produced when he's on the field, he knows the system very well, and Hass really likes going to him, and they weren't afraid to let Jackson go knowing Hackett was there. I don't think this season makes him injury prone, it was a rolled ankle in the first game that bit him again once he was back. After the off season it will be a non factor. So I think Seattle will do what they can to keep him and I doubt anyone else will come in with a contract so big that Seattle won't want to match. And he seems to be a pretty low key, mellow guy. Still drives a Honda Civic. I fully expect him to be in Seattle next year, but you never know.

Hackett might play more than originally expected. Branch tweaked his calf in practice Thursday and Holmgren doesn't know if he'll let Branch play on Sunday. He's making the trip but Walrus isn't sure about his playing time. If he doesn't play then Hackett and Engram will start with Nate as 3rd (Bobby moving to slot as he ahs all season). Even with Branch in I think Hackett will get more than just lip service playing time, but that's just my opinion from reading into what was being said. I've not read anything specifically talking about his playing time.

Thanks ms. I'm starting him.Is this what your talking about:(Rotoworld) If Deion Branch (calf) does not play in Week 17, D.J. Hackett will be the Seahawks' starting split end.Impact: Branch is unlikely to play Sunday. Bobby Engram would start at flanker, but figures to be replaced quickly by a combo of Ben Obomanu and Courtney Taylor. Hackett could play the most of all 'Hawks WRs. He's healthy after a month layoff and the team likely wants to get him a good number of snaps.

I actually hadn't seen that part about Obo and Taylor. I had seen that Engram and DJ would start, but was wondering how long Engram would be in as he needs the practice least of all. And he is Hass' mvp. Hass doesn't play the same without him and an injury to Engram would hurt the Hawks in the playoffs more than almost any other player. Also it appears that Hackett is healthier than I believed, this is the thrid article mentioning that he's fully healthy.

Not to mention that he needs the work to get his timing down before the playoffs. I expect him to play a lot.
