DNC Leaks...official thread (2 Viewers)

Most of the causes he fought for during his campaign would be hurt if Trump becomes president.  I see it as an act of strength for Bernie to swallow his personal pride here to advance the policies he believes are better for the American people.
There's the entire problem with American politics summed up in 2 sentences. "This candidate is repulsive in every way but it's not the other person who I dislike more."

Seems like the vast majority of this board and Americans agree that both these candidates suck. But one of them is going to be POTUS.

Very true. I'm specifically referring to Bernie though, who has a National podium and the ability to say something against a system that is broken. You and I can ##### on a message board.  Instead though, path of least resistance.

That is an extraordinary statement.  How the F did we get to this place.
1.  Buying into the "lesser of two evils" as an acceptable bar.

2.  Buying into the "if you don't vote D or R, you're wasting your vote" meme.

3.  Comparing the two to each other rather than the standard you set for both to meet. (ETA:  This third one is what happens when you mix 1 and 2)

How Putin Weaponized Wikileaks to Influence the Election of an American President

Evidence suggests that a Russian intelligence group was the source of the most recent Wikileaks intel dump, which was aimed to influence the U.S. election.

Close your eyes and imagine that a hacking group backed by Russian President Vladimir Putin broke into the email system of a major U.S. political party. The group stole thousands of sensitive messages and then published them through an obliging third party in a way that was strategically timed to influence the United States presidential election. Now open your eyes because that’s what just happened.

On Friday, Wikileaks published 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee. They reveal, among other things, thuggish infighting, a push by a top DNC official to use Bernie Sanders’ religious convictions against him in the South, and attempts to strong-arm media outlets. In other words, they reveal the Washington campaign monster for what it is.

But leave aside the purported content of the Wikileaks data dump (to which numerous other outlets have devoted considerable attention) and consider the source. Considerable evidence shows that the Wikileaks dump was an orchestrated act by the Russian government, working through proxies, to undermine Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign.

“This has all the hallmarks of tradecraft. The only rationale to release such data from the Russian bulletproof host was to empower one candidate against another. The Cold War is alive and well,” Tom Kellermann, the CEO of Strategic Cyber Ventures told Defense One.

- Good read here.

- I'm fairly conflicted here because while I'm happy that yes the DNC has been outed I think it's a bad idea to empower Russia by letting them screw with our elections. I think it's possible they are screwing with our democratic process right now and that arguably that's a much bigger problem than the DNC's shenanigans.

- cc @David Dodds since he inquired on this earlier in the Hillary thread.

Its never a good sign, when the spin switches to the source of the information, rather than the information itself.

Sure, the Russians might have exposed an issue - but lets not lose sight that there is an issue that should be resolved.  The Russians don't run the DNC.... :tinfoilhat:

Clinton campaign pushing a lot of 'Russia' spin to divert from #DNCLeak. We have not revealed our sources & no one disputes veracity.

Note on sourcing #DNCLeaks. We have, as usual, not revealed our sources. Anyone who claims to know who our source is has no credibility.

What's the worst thing to come out about Russia? Post it.

They're not mutually exclusive.

Guccifer 2.0 and wikileaks may both be fronts for Russian GRU & FSB, that doesn't mean these things did not happen, I totally agree discuss the facts, they need to be.

They are mutually exclusive.

They can co-exist as separate issues.  When my younger daughter tattles on my older daughter, it makes me cringe.  I still have to address the behavior of the older daughter, but then I have to separately deal with the tattling issue.  The tattling does not mean I ignore the older daughter's behavior.

What wikileaks is doing is historic.  No wonder politicians yar trying to control the internet, they don't want people exposing their dirt.  This is entertaining as hell imo.  What's the next headliner that will be pulled from these 20k emails?  What else do they have?  When are they going to release it?  Get your popcorn ready.

I agree with that completely.

Huh?

And youd still vote for a guy that will pass off nearly everything to people the voters didnt elect?
Yes and because unlike Bush,Obama, and Clinton he will pick the right people.

BTW When did dncleaks become another Trump thread? Donald is the man. Takes over everything.

BOSS.

One key for me here is that - to my surprise - I haven't seen any Hillary campaign people cc'd on these emails. That would be a huge(r) problem IMO.

Thats because the DNC staff were Hillary campaign people...led by DWS - who herself was smart enough on one of the email chains to suggest they continue the conversation off-line - where there would be no paper trail...

And that's the part folks like me are trying to help others to understand that really are upset at the thought of Clinton but projectile vomit every time they look at Trump. Most of us assume that like in his businesses that he will hire the best to run everything while he is the face of the party and working to smooth things out with leaders around the world.

Sho, you know this country as it stands right now without any more policy changes pretty much beats the pants off most other places. I'm not saying we couldn't learn many things from our Euro allies and in other parts of the World. But I believe with Trump in office and a GOP controlled House/Senate that we can operate at maximum levels economically, fix a lot of these trade imbalances, and I believe a new system of monitoring folks into and out of the country.

I know you have been fighting the good fight as the anti-Trump, don't let me derail your fun but I think if you would continue to listen to Trump you might understand that he is simply a "vehicle" to get others into the WH. Trump is electable and the other 15-16-17 folks were not by A LOT!!!

So if you can look at Trump as simply an ugly but reliable car made of metal from the 50s but inside it has all the modern makings of a 2016, if you can buy into that then I think you understand Trump supporters even if you still reject everything I told you. Which I'm sure you did/will.

AAt some point if you could acknowledge that you understand but disagree with why so many of us are voting for him, it would help a lot in posting back and forth. I think Trump supporters are going out of their way to show folks they read loud and clear the messages being sent their way. It's not shocking or disturbing, the things that so many of you all get worked up about.

I never thought Trump in my wildest imagination 20 years ago could ever be President...but a lots happened in 20 years both personally and as a country and the World for that matter.
At no point has he shown he will hire the best anything.

At no point has he shown the ability to smooth things iver with world leaders (other than maybe his buddy Putin)

Economists have nearly universally slammed his trade and tax plans.

Several of the others were not only electable...but would probably be in the leadlead big time right now against a flawed candidate like Hillary.

Can you show us proof you aren't being paid by Soros?
I've shown you proof that Donald has been paid by Soros and may still be in debt to him.

Yes, the absence of proof that I am paid by Soros is proof that I am not. HTH.

I've also proved you really don't care about Soros, because even if I was paid 35.39 a week to post for him and influence no one, you're still supporting a guy for PRESIDENT who received at least $26 million up to some portion of $160 million from him.

And don't forget all that money (who knows how much -- Trump won't tell us) Trump received from Russian mobsters, oligarchs and Putin.

Much more important that someone who knew Hillary said some bad things out of turn. Because, Hillary.

Well that was before he ran against the democrat party automatically making him a racist correct?

Or are you saying Soros paid Trump to run against the democrat party.

Interesting.

Interesting.
It was directed at DFS, it just matters for people who think that Soros is a pernicious left wing influence on elections.
