Grammar nazis have arrive. End Thread. Pools Closed.Btw, in keeping with the most ancient law of the internet, there are two grammatical errors in your grammar rebuke. Im quite certain there are many more in mine.If you do not want to use the apostrophe, you can separate into two words. Do not. Does not.Are you waiting, just give me a minute.Dont go anywhere. It has been hours, so I will just assume that Mathews actually ended up RB 6-8, where he ended the fantasy season in nearly all leagues. Tolbert is now gone. If you want to take a jab at Mathews being "injury prone" then go for it. However, the board will just come back with 15 RBs that did not make it through the season.Top ten RB? He has already done it. Give him credit where credit is due.Ill post a link in a minute, just wait for it.Post a link to your league. I am betting you are including week 17 in your numbers. No one plays fantasy in week 17, when Mathews sat out a meaningless game. Link it to prove it.While checking for you, he did finish 10th.
Also the board doesnt have to, I already made that point, I just implied they were all better than Mathews.
Just curious where you value Stevie at?In the passed month he peaked at the very end of the 5th round in 12 mans for ADP, and in the passed week he has moved to the mid 6th.27th WR overall.67th overall. To me this is a bargain for a WR who in the last two years has racked up 160 receptions, 2000 yards and 17 tds, just curious why you have marked him down.I'll draft anyone at what I perceive to be the proper value but this is a preliminary list of guys that will likely not end up on my team because I value them way below their ADP (I don't draft until Labor Day weekend so this is subject to dramatic change):QB:Matt SchaubAndy DaltonRB:Adrian PetersonMaurice Jones-DrewSteven JacksonWR:Andre JohnsonHakeem NicksSteve Johnson
LOLI would say, Calvin Johnson...and It REALLY hurts to say, But, I think RB is extremely important this year and I wont be drafting a WR in the mid first round in any of my leagues. I would rather have Lloyd and Demaryius in the 3rd and 4th with 2 feature RBs than Calvin one good RB and no RBs to choose from in the 3rd and 4thMaurice Jones Poo.very mature, Rizzler.
I agree with all that, with the exception of Newton. He is on many lists in this thread. Is it just the expected reduction in rushing touchdowns? Cam is going in the 3rd round in redraft and that seems pretty fair. What am I missing here?QB: NewtonRB: CharlesWR: BoweTE: Gronkowski
I understand parts of this list but others not so much.Steven Jackson: last of the bell cow backs to be taken that gets catches. He's not a sexy pick but unless you foresee him having a Shaun Alexander falloff this year, how can you disagree with a late second early third round pick on him? You are not paying for a career year and he is one of the most stable guys you can draft. If you figure an injury occurs sure but I don't ever pretend to be a person who can predict injury.Stevie Johnson: Stevie was in the top 10 in targets, has had a top 10ish season in the past, and is being drafted as a low end WR2 or high end WR3. I do t see passing him up if he's in the 5th round unless someone else really slips. Plus he has little competition for catches as the Bills don't really have a WR2 that is in any way established as truly relevant. I grab him in nearly every league it seems like because he is one of the later guys that has the best chance to break into the top 8-10 WR. His only downfall is he is a knucklehead, but only after he scores a TD so he really only gets fined.I'll draft anyone at what I perceive to be the proper value but this is a preliminary list of guys that will likely not end up on my team because I value them way below their ADP (I don't draft until Labor Day weekend so this is subject to dramatic change):QB:Matt SchaubAndy DaltonRB:Adrian PetersonMaurice Jones-DrewSteven JacksonWR:Andre JohnsonHakeem NicksSteve Johnson
There are several factors. His second half splits concern me in addition to the expected decrease in rushing TDs. I'm not suggesting defenses "figured him out," but there was a pretty clear gameplan for Cam early in 2011. Stop the run. Make Cam beat you. Leaving Steve Smith single covered is a losing proposition, and Cam exploited it. When defenses adjusted by doubling Smith Cam's passing numbers dropped significantly, as did Smith's obviously. After and including week 5, Cam never again topped 300 yards passing, and he turned the ball over 14 times. Brandon LaFell is an interesting talent, but is he enough of a threat to keep Newton's passing numbers in the upper 3,000 to 4,000 range again if defenses continue to take SS away? Also, when a player runs as much as Newton they are inherently vulnerable to injury. I never predict injury, and Cam is a beast, but the risk is definitely higher for a QB that will run. As an aside to that thought, when you have 3 capable RBs it seems silly to subject your franchise QB to goalline runs. I don't expect him to score anywhere near the 14 rushing TDs he had in 2011.In addition to all of that there are some really great players at WR on the board in the area Cam is being drafted that are less of a conundrum for me to project.I agree with all that, with the exception of Newton. There are a lot of ff players that do not like the injury risk associated with a running QB. I think Cam is special in that regard because he is built more like a TE/LB, plus he is young. It feels different drafting Vick than it does Cam.The other thing that strikes me with Cam is that he will have less volatility in terms of ff points. When you take a passing-only QB like Rivers or Manning, some weeks will be huge and others will be stinkers. I would rather be slightly above average week in and week out with ff points rather than have really great weeks and really bad weeks.I do wish he had better receivers. There are several factors. Why on Eli? Considering drafting him as my second QB in a 10-team league that has a super flex spot. He was a top 10 in points in my league last year. Even if he goes back down to 4,500 yards instead of pushing 5,000, he's a good value. Not quite a dont draft list, but these guys won't be on any of my teams. EliTurnerGoreBestWellsWallaceFinley
So two apostrophes handicap your typing ability?Apostrophes are a waste of time.Idk for you, but for me using apostrophes lowers my wpm by 25%, maybe I just have dumb pinkies. But if youre willing to stick around, ill change it for you. Anytime I have to move my pinky from the shift or return key my WPM suffers. So two apostrophes handicap your typing ability?Apostrophes are a waste of time.Idk for you, but for me using apostrophes lowers my wpm by 25%, maybe I just have dumb pinkies. But if youre willing to stick around, ill change it for you. You know, it takes a couple of extra seconds to zip up your fly, too....Anytime I have to move my pinky from the shift or return key my WPM suffers.
Who says I unzip my fly, my belts not that tight - can also go handsfree. Multitasking.Id like to revisit the not taking Mathews at his ADP, seeing is he couldnt make it through his first possession of a preseason game without braking his clavicle - after one carry. You know, it takes a couple of extra seconds to zip up your fly, too....Anytime I have to move my pinky from the shift or return key my WPM suffers.![]()
Read the fine print: "Do not Draft List At their ADP"Every player has a value. Can't say I'd avoid any player completely. Don't make emotional decisions playing fantasy.
RB: Mathews
WR: Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, Titus Young.
