Do we get respect or not yet? (1 Viewer)

Look, as a Falcon fan, I totally get the inferiority complex. But starting a thread asking the question "do we get some respect now", really doesn't fit with the whole "I don't care if we get respect anyway" line. You obviously care. After being the whipping boys for so long, I guess it must be cathartic to call out a few people, but really, after the way they limped out of the regular season, did you expect to change everyone's minds in two games, no matter how good they were?

Kudos to the Cards. I'm a little torn on this one, as it doesn't help the "NFC is the toughest division" argument, but it does legitimize our loss in Arizona, since Arizona proved they're not just the token NFC West representative. Where the hell has that defense been all year? This team is the epitomy of getting hot at the right time and have a serious shot, IMO.

In either case, I'm on the bandwagon. Since I have no love for the Eagles or Giants, I'll root for David to slay Goliath. Go Cards!
I see what your saying, and maybe I came off wrong. But the fact is, obviously I would rather have my team be respected than not right? But at the same time, if this run in the playoffs hasn't earned respect yet then thats fine because that is what I expected. I didn't want to come off as some random ### bangwagon fan that talks up their team like no tomorrow, and maybe it was a little early to ask for some respect considering all the years of futility, but I do think we deserve more credit then we will get. But obviously I am going think that and I understand if people still don't want to admit it. And I know this situation isnt the exact same because the Chargers don't have the notoriously bad hisotry following them, but if the Chargers come out today and knock off the Steelers, although they went 8-8 in the regular season, they will have my respect for making a hell of a run this year when noone has expected them too. Thats why I don't agree with the regular season argument, because frankly, it doesn't matter.
look, i understand the "no respect" mentality that fans go through, as each of us probably has felt that way at one time or another about our team. and i will be rooting for the cards next week and my favorite player in the league is larry fitzgerald, just so you know i'm not hating on your team. but the bottom line is that you earn your reputation, and respect doesnt put a single point on the scoreboard. for god's sake, i'm hearing giants fans claim THEY aren't getting the respect they deserve. WHEN DOES IT END? can we all agree that nobody gets any respect? its all just ridiculous.that said, go cards.

People who are bringing up Arizona's illustrious history as reasons not to respect them seem sort of ridiculous. If the Lions went 9-7 next year and won a couple of playoff games, they'd certainly have earned my respect, no matter how crappy they've been in the past. Likewise, even if you hate the Cardinals and mock their inept past, it's hard to believe you can't respect how they righted their ship the last two weeks--including a more balanced offense, and a much more succesful defense--when most people thought they were going to be pasted.

Dude, your name is "FFCardsFan" and you have a 3-digit FBG number. You never would come off as a bandwagon fan on that basis alone  . Even those who are skeptical of the Cards have to give :hot: and respect to you for your dedication  Your team still has stuff to prove to folks, that is very true, but I wanted to be clear that in these quarters you already have my respect for clearly being such a good fan. -QG

My hats off to the Cardinals. Their defense has been extraordinarily impressive. If they can maintain that level of play, I won't count them out of any game.

I am a Raider fan first and foremost, but I've lived in Arizona for fourteen years. It is so nice to be excited about Cardinal football.

I'm sure Philly will come in and teach the Cardinals all of the lessons they have learned in the previous NFC championships. Win or lose, it is great to be competitive.

I just hope it is an entertaining game for the entire country and the Cardinals put up a hell of a fight. It will also be nice for the fans to feel like they can contribute to a stout home field advantage. I believe the Cardinals are 13-4 at home.

I'm not sure that no one expected them to make a run, or at least have a shot. They won four in a row to end the season, then played a team they've done very well against recently. It's also the same squad that went to the AFC championship game last year and was 14-2 the year before. Kind of apples and oranges compared to the Cards. I think the Cardinals are getting the kind of credit they deserve. I hear about them a lot in the news. :lmao:
