Do you believe in Demonic possession? (1 Viewer)

Absolutely, yes.

Then again, I have a 32 month old toddler. In another 6 months to a year, I'll be a little more skeptical.

But as of this moment, yep, gotta be true.

I didnt say it was magical, the medice "works", i just question what some of it "works" for. Im not refering to paranoid schizophrenia specifically, some meds are useful. As a whole though, people today, especially in this country, are entirely over-medicated(especially children).
These are two different discussions. Now if we want to talk over medicated kids I'm in. I agree totally. AD/HD is heavily over diagnosed by people not following even the basic guidelines due to profit motive. With you 100%. But that has nothing to do with demons or their potential existence as a medical malady.
No doubt im skewing from the original point. I was just trying to make a point that how do we really know what is truly a mental issue?
Again if there is any magical cause for any malady or cure then medical science isn't worth the paper a degree comes on. You have to chuck it all out and start over.

:hey: I absolutely believe in it. Scares the hell out of me. I have met some priests that were around for some. Scary stuff. I thought the Rite was a really well done movie. I thought A Hopkins should have got more accolades for his performance.
You and your stigmata buddy could sell them Amway! If that doesn't turn 'em...
Nice notebook!! I gave up on Amway though so you can update that.

Not exactly sure what you mean, but are you suggesting that medical science is 100% accurate, or at least can give come to a definitive conclusion about mental issues?

Yeah they have. Now the brain is a complex thing so everyday we get deeper into it and find more. In general though we know what causes mental disease. We may find new triggers and such but the general foundation is laid.

only weak minded fools believe in this stu... aes dna htrae ho uoy ot ow  ff silly
:lmao:I believe in God, and in the supernatural.I do believe that demons exist. And they can possess people, or terrify them without actually possessing them. But I do agree that a lot of 'demon possession' claims are likely a psychological disorder. Although I don't think the 2 are necessarily mutually exclusive. And yes, I have witnessed it. If it was schizophrenia, the person affected had no prior history of mental disorder, and had none after the event I witnessed. So while I can't claim with certainty, this is the best explanation I have given my worldview (belief in supernatural beings), the person's lack of a history of disorder, and the specific things that happened and were said (it was a very religious type of outburst and episode).
There is no more proof for demons than there is for God. And numerous studies have been done on these kinds of events it always comes back to natural explanation. Not once are we left thinking Satan did it.
Why are there 100 shows on TV about ghosts, possession, hauntings, paranormal activity? All the God people have is Benny Hinn, and he is no match for Ghost HuntersEsplain that to me

Clearly you must not have seen the 8 channels of church programming on DirecTV. People who have never had a religious experience can't be expected to understand the views of people who have.

That's coz these so-called "religious experiences" are bogus; a figment of the imagination.

Because on some level these shows are comforting. The notion that "spirits" could exist would indicate that there's something beyond death and if the existence of a ghost could ever be proven it'd be the happiest day in the history of human kind. Of course they don't exist and these shows are just modern day PT Barnum-like productions but the subject matter alone is enough to get the dolts to tune in.

So explain the Dolts that believe that Jesus walked on water, turned water into wine and built an Ark, lost his strength when his hair was cut, rose from the dead.....etc.He did have a cool cool colourful dreamcoat though ;)

I'd say that religion hits the same areas of the subconscious that those shows do. They can recreate a religious experience by manipulating brain chemistry these days.
