Do you have an accent? (1 Viewer)

I took this quiz a few months ago and it told me I had a "midwest accent which really means 'no accent at all' " and that I would be "a good news broadcaster".

Same.
Same - accent is mostly the same from being raised in southern Ohio. Though my pollack friends in Toledo thought I sounded like a West Virgina hillbilly. They said I pronounced TV like "tee-vee."
How else would you pronounce TV? It's the letter T and the letter V.
Tough to phonetically represent. An exaggeration would be TAY-vay

When I get drunk I sometimes take on other peoples accent. Happens a lot when I visit friends in Boston or Canada. Those wickeds and eh's are contagious.

Maybe? I've only lived in Rochester & Buffalo. As far as I know we all speak exactly like they do on TV and in the movies. So maybe I don't then?
You're likely fine so long as you didnt grow upin Tanawanada
One of my good friends is from there and he definitely has no accent. Hmmmm

Is Philly the accent where they drop the 'h' sound off of words like 'human' and 'huge' (replaced with almost a 'y' sound like 'yuman' or 'yuge')?

The first thing I needed to do when I started doing voiceovers was to get rid of my Brooklyn accent. Its still a struggle at times but I've gotten pretty good at it. It still slips out when I'm not on mic though. I've also gotten good at other accents and dialects. Not enough to fool a local probably but enough that it gets me work.

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Inland North

100%
You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Exactly what I got...

Your result: The South

That's a Southern accent you've got there. You may love it, you may hate it, you may swear you don't have it, but whatever the case, we can hear it.

No, but the rest of y'all do.

I remember an episode of Barney Miller after Carter took office. Some government official with a southern accent was at the station. One of the characters commented on it and his reply was something along the lines of "no, y'all have the accent now"
