Do you start Bradshaw with confidence? (1 Viewer)

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw returned to practice Friday after missing the previous two days of practice with a sprained left ankle and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. He expects to play, though.

"I felt great," Bradshaw said. "No setback at all. I'm ready to go."

Bradshaw stretched with the team and went through reps with the first-team offense during the portion of practice available to the media. He had been expected to return to practice Thursday, but finally made his return Friday.

"He did well," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "He did OK -- he got up on his toes, ran around."

Bradshaw, who is second in the NFC and leads the Giants with 382 rushing yards, said the sprain happened on a screen pass during Sunday's 17-3 victory against the Chicago Bears.

Bradshaw said the ankle went numb during the game for a couple of minutes, and it stayed sore during the week, so he and the Giants have taken a cautious approach. The training staff has been helping him strengthen the ankle the past two days, which is what Bradshaw said is pretty much all it takes to recover.

Worried. I've lost 10 lbs since he was rolling on the ground in agony sunday night. Still starting because only other option is Brandon Jackson.

Bradshaw is fine. The bigger concern is the Giants will be starting a PS TE at FB with Hedgecock out, and the starting center is out and the back up might be as well. If the back up center doesn't make it, Seubert moves to center and Shawn Andrews will play at LG or LT.

Bear Pascoe gets at fullback and what kind of plays the Giants will run with him at that spot. Pascoe was limited in his role this past week because he hadn’t practiced at the spot before the game. This week, he got the full complement of action with Hedgecock sidelined.

It’ll be quite the matchup if and when an inexperienced Pascoe locks horns with rusty Texans LB Brian Cushing, who will be playing his first game after serving a four-game suspension. I’m hoping to see those two meet up and to see who gets the better of whom. Pascoe said last week he often took on defenders with the wrong shoulder because he wasn’t used to taking the angle on them from the backfield. Let’s see if his technique is improved from last week. And let’s see if he gets as many snaps as Hedgecock, who was in the game for 21 of 43 plays last week before getting hurt.

*Adam Koets (knee), who is playing for injured center Shaun O'Hara, returned to practice on a limited basis.

OOOF...thanks for the heads up on the o-line netnalp.

I am starting him with confidence. I will check the injury update on Sunday morning, but unless he is OUT, I am starting him.

he is in my lineup at the moment, between him and Ced Ben, I feel comfortable rolling with Bradshaw.
I'm also trying to decide between these two but think I'm going with Benson as I think he is the safer bet rather than the high risk / high reward with Bradshaw considering the ankle and a tough run defense.

I know Texans defense is ranked high vs. the run, #2, I believe. Is it legit, or a product of them not having faced a running team till Oakland last week and their defense being so weak against the pass?

at this point he pretty much qualifies for 'never bench your studs'

the texan's have been way ahead a lot

even in a rout which i think is unlikely bradshaw will be involved

Starting Bradshaw over Best.
What? They are practically the same person except best will get more work for sure and the Lions arent playing Tennessee they are playing St. Louis.Forgot to mention the lions o-line being better than New Yorks this year.

He's currently on my bench but w/ Hillis listed as Questionable I may shift him in. Only other options are Michael Bush or roll w/ a WR in my flex and my WR bench sucks. So I would say Bradshaw COULD be started but not w/ confidence. Ankle issues are too easy to aggravate or compensate for and cause another injury.

Chicago was ranked # 1 vs the run...didnt seem to matter to Bradshaw.

It s funny when i read that the ouston run defense is good , its just because you dont need to run against them you can pass all day ( their pass defense is awful )

I counted one play where he literally broke 4 tackles on the same play; after initially being hit in the backfield he gained over ten yards on the carry. A guy like that is not going to be completely shut down by any defense, as long as he is fed the rock.
