Darren Sproles - RB - Saints

Darren Sproles (hand) returned to Saints practice Wednesday, getting in a limited session.

Although Sproles was officially limited, interim coach Joe Vitt says he "was full-go in shells and looked good." Barring a setback, Sproles should be ready to roll against the Raiders, and end up missing just two games. His return will further muddy a Saints backfield that grew cloudier with Chris Ivory and Mark Ingram's Week 10 breakouts, though Sproles will remain an RB2 in PPR leagues and flex option in standard formats. How things shake out between New Orleans' trio of power backs in Ingram, Ivory and Pierre Thomas is the million dollar question.

Hopefully they dont go back to tossing the ball 50 times again, saints are a fun team to watch when they strive for balance.

They need balance, throwing the ball 50+ times is great if you have any kind of D......unfortunately for them, they don't.

I'm going to attempt a bit of logic here... if I look at Chris Ivory's 3 year career yards per carry, he is averaging over 5 yards per carry. His performance over the past 2 weeks was explosive & dynamic to say the least.

Given what he has shown thus far, can a responsible coach actually disregard the record and go back to business as usual? If I were putting odds on it, I would have to say there is less than a 15% chance Ivory is the one who sees less carries. It would be flat out beyond reason to assume otherwise, right?

An otherwise active owner in my league started Sproles in Week 10 and lost by 2 points. He had Shonn Greene and Andre Brown on his bench. The opponent who benefited now sits one spot above me in the standings.

maybe he was afraid shonn greene would post negative points.

Sproles got dropped in my main league. (small bench and byes)

I picked him up, but on the wait an see how they use him for now.

And I'm of the belief once completely healthy and ready to roll the

saints go right back to there norm, pass the crap out of the ball, an

that is just fine by me, not concerned with how they do in real football

but with Brees as a QB I'm just fine with that as fantasy. :)

I have to agree with you. After watching Ivory play, I can't understand why he was INACTIVE prior to the Sproles Royce injury. He sure looks like the most dangerous rb in that backfield.

With Matthews missing a 2nd day of practice I need Sproles to have is normal roll this week.

Ivory/Ingram don't worry me because Sproles was only averaging 3.7 carries per game anyways. I could really use his 5.5 catches per game & 66 return yards per game in my PPR/Return Yardage league.

How long have you been waiting to use this saying?

Sproles Royce...really?

You should pick up Nick Foles if he is available and start a thread entitled...do you want to ride in my Foles Royce?

New Orleans Saints RB Darren Sproles (hand) said Friday, Nov. 16, that he is fit to return kicks, if needed, in Week 11 against the Oakland Raiders. He has been battling some swelling in his hand, and his status will be decided Saturday, Nov. 17.
Any updates on Sproles Royce?

No where near the same ring to it. Foles is no Rolls Royce of QBs like Sproles is for return yardage leagues

I think it would be more like "a lock for a top 40 hit with stevie nicks"cuz he'd be a top 40 qb.

Rotoworld update says he needs to be cleared for hand swelling by his docs. Earlier reports were we'd know if he was cleared by Saturday. Any update or is this a GTD till late Sunday morning?
