If it hasn't been pumped out by now it ain't happening. And if it does, it's BS for the 95% of people whose drafts have happened by now
I just re-upped for another 3 years, so it's not like I'm going anywhere, but it felt like FBG has been a little slow this year. Part of it could be blamed on the lockout, but I felt a little unprepared for 2 of my main leagues, which drafted during the 3rd real weekend of preseason. I'm still looking forward to Dodds From the Gut; I just have to hope he likes the guys I decided to take.

This site is worth every penny, but it didn't seem up to par with last season. Lockout didn't help anyone.

last year everyone complained about the Perfect Draft articles being late, but they came out much earlier this year.

... with half the perfect draft having "suck" from Avoid the suck article. Hard to imagine you had a perfect draft if half your roster "sucks".

yeah, this was one of those articles I definitely used in all of my previous drafts, especially for those late picks. With all of the info out there, it's nice to have a quick, reliable go-to source. David - please give us the goods.

Very disappointing that this apparently won't be released this year. Dodds has time to do expert drafts but not premium FBG material? 
There are about 3 or 4 annual features for which I subscribe and this is one of them. I understand it was a shortened offseason, but IMO priorities are out of whack. Expert drafts and editing consensus projections on a daily basis should be secondary to the material which provide subscribers with an edge. And is it too much to ask for updates on what/when things will be released?

I share in your frustration. This has been a wacky off season and I'm not defending David, but right now it's all hands on deck as the season kicks off Thursday. I would bet if we started a thread with specific questions for him he would try and answer them. I also think you might send an email to either David or Joe and they probably would have a better answer. I don't think David was sitting at his desk and thought..."I could write the gut article or I could do this expert's draft". I agree though, it has always been a favorite of not just mine but the majority of the Shark Pool.Very disappointing that this apparently won't be released this year. I'd echo the same overall sentiment that the energy put forth by the contributors seems lacking, bordering on lazy. Late entries by staff writers, no entries, outdated links, etc. Friend of mine was pimping one of the main competitors to FBG, and I very nearly made the switch. But I've been loyal to this site for a long time and decided to re-up. I have to say, it's been pretty disappointing here, thus far. SP is still the main benefit, but I think the original content has been way off this year (other than the rookie scouting profile, which is pure genius and obvious hard work).

I dont think it's a matter of laziness, just a matter of priority. There are multiple threads every year about the timeliness of the Perfect Draft articles. This year, it's the Perfect Auction that has slipped to the point of being useless to most people. I really don't think much of the content that has been released ahead of these articles would generate the same amount of requests if they re-aranged the order of release.
Take the Top 300 Player list for example. It seems to get updated 2-3 times a week, but really who would use that in a draft over a similar top player list that you could customize to your league via the DD or VBD app?

Does anyone else like to take the Rankings from 6-7 staff over the last 2-3 days as a barometer for their drafts? I know in the SSL styles it seems like folks are just going right down the FBG rankings and plugging them in for their picks.
One of the cool features on there is taking the guys you like best, let's say it's Bloom and Tefertiller, then you can order them according to those individuals and you can look across and see who is higher or lower on their lists. For example JT has MJD pretty high on his list at #2...if you click on him and order them along his rankings you can see who sticks out like a sore thumb. You can do that for all the staff including Dave and Joe. It's not a mystery what these guys think and Jason Wood for example has most of his with a little blurb next to the blue numbers so there is reasoning behind the rankings which I find helpful when I am preparing for a draft.

I disagree completely. I'd much rather have my drafts early in the preseason because then you can actually get guys like Hightower at a good value...by the time they play 4 preseason games and every site has their sleeper/stud lists any idiot can have a decent draft.

It's hard to be in 20 leagues if you have to draft them all in one weekend. People have been plunking down $350 left and right for the last couple weeks in the FFPC...respectfully disagree with you.

I thought the perfect draft article this year was lazy. Like another poster pointed out, half of the perfect draft were players Dodds tells you to eliminate in his eliminate the suck article. I understand that kind of overlap will exists between two different writers but the same guy tells you to tell players in one article and then draft them for a perfect draft in another.At the end of the year FBG will brag how they got it right. He's either going to get the suck article correct or the perfect draft.If the perfect draft, perfect auction and from the gut articles aren't "priority" at this point then they just aren't listening to their audience, IMO.

I don't know about you, but I like being rewarded for my research and gut instincts by actually getting some value pulls in earlier drafts. I don't like when the guys I knew were great values before preseason, or during the first week or two of preseason, are going 5-6 rounds higher because every Joe Schmoe finally saw it for themselves on the NFL.com fantasy report or some bull. I didn't need to see Hightower beast it for 3-4 straight preseason games under Shanahan to know his value. If I drafted now, I'd have to take him in the 4th or 5th round at the latest to get him because nobody has to do their own damn homework.You apparently enjoy that.

You are paying for content on this site that's given away for free elsewhere. Anyone with a paying subscription has a good reason to complain when what you pay for is late or sub-par. You can get comparable advice elsewhere and save yourself the subscription fee here. The whole reason you pay for a subscription is because of content like the OP mentioned.

Sounds like someone new to FF. We've been doing our league for...this is our 24th year...and have guys flying in from 3 corners of the country to participate. You can't possibly get everyone's vacation/travel schedule anchored to any singular weekend every year.
