Does Peyton look uncomfortable? (1 Viewer)

Da Guru

Fair & Balanced
Brett Farve, Tom Brady have been through 20 Wrs and always seemed to be able to make do.

For the first time I feel that Peyton needs to have his regular WRS, his regular routine to be effective.

Am I wrong?

He definitely looks rattled tonight, but I'm not ready to say that he's been exposed. On the flip side, Favre was able to win a Super Bowl despite losing his top WR (Robert Brooks)....and has made a career of taking average players and making them better. Manning hasn't ever had to face a long stretch of games without Harrison until now. What does all that mean? No idea.

Yes. Absolutely. Throw out the most prolific first 10 years in NFL history. This bad 22 minutes clearly overshadows it all.

He seems to have trouble with a 3-4 defense, which San Diego has, and Peyton seemed to have problems with San Diego two years ago. Until this game, Peyton was on pace for around 4116 yds 28 td, and 8int.

Meh, give Favre any receivers and the records are certain death, give favre Harrison and Wayne and Peyton is a who's yer Daddy commercial

The last 3 games he has ~245 yds per game, 4 TDs, 2 INTs, 4 fumbles (only 1 lost). Not exactly what we're used to from Manning. So say what you want, but he has been struggling - at least compared to what Manning normally does - without Harrison. So it isn't like this is just a 22-minute stretch, his stats have been down for a few weeks.

And now today? 69 yds, 0 TDs, 4 INTs - with 6 minutes to go in the 1st half.

Somehow, I get the feeling he'll bounce back though.

Yes, and it isn't the first time.

Isn't Manning known for making his "regulars" work overtime with him 1-on-1 after the regular practices, before games, at Christmas parties, etc? Just seems to reason if those guys are all out, he is going to struggle a bit.

It's all about what have you done for me really really really really really really really lately.Time to cut him and pick up Joey Harrington.I'll just add that I'm SO HAPPY I feared the Colts offense enough to bench the Chargers D and start KC instead. Oops. :bag:

With that drive, Peyton Manning has clearly established himself as the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL.

Let's see he is missing his #1WR, #1 TE, #3WR and his LT was signed yesterday after being cut earlier this year.

Why would he be uncomfortable?

You guys are absurd to think this...one bad game cannot erase 10 years of a great career. Everyone has bad games. Favre has played without HOF calibre WR's for years and he has had his fair share of 3 and 4 INT games. Brady too for that matter. This is the first time since Manning's second or third year in the league that he hasn't had a go-to weapon. Without an established WR out there other than Wayne, the DB's are allowed to double him and force Manning to throw the ball to one of the lesser guys. I'm going to go out on a limb and make my prediction: the Colts go into the locker room down big at the half and make the adjustments they need to make and Manning comes out with the ball in the second half and leads this team on a comeback of epic proportions. That will shut you haters up.

You might want to invest in a sarcasm meter.

:ptts: I see DaGoober changed the title of his thead.
Psst... play nice. You don't want to get run from here.
I didn't start this lame thread.
Yeah I know. It's just that the DaGoober thing could be looked at as name calling, and Joe has already been in this thread. Put downs don't get looked upon kindly. I'm not a moderator, I'm just giving you a friendly caution. A guy in another thread earlier got tossed for some little dig and I don't want you to end up the same.

Thanks for the headsup. However, starting a thread like this with the original title is a joke not to mention how he changed the title after getting called out for it.

I've always been a fan of Peyton but he does look frazzled out there as he did last week. All quarterbacks can't be as good as Tom Brady.

OMG

Tough day at the office for Manning. But its not really his fault. I will say this, though. You put a guy in a Ferrari for 10 years, and he's gonna drive fast for 10 years. You put a guy in a Pinto, and he's gonna look like a guy driving a Pinto. :goodposting:

Wow, way to change the thread title to make yourself look better. Weak and cowardly.
weak and cowardly? Because the guy changed the thread name? Cool it fella. This is a fantasy football message board....some of you people....wow, just wow.
You make a statement stating Manning has been exposed and when everyone calls you out for it, you not only change the thread title, but the entire text of the original post. It makes the posters who blasted him for his original post look out of line. That's weak and cowardly to me.

Give us a break. The original title and this thread made implications about Manning's career based on this game. If someone starts a thread like that then they better be ready to handle what will come from it.

i see your points. i didnt know he changed what he wrote too. Manning is having a bad night. Everyone does occasionally. this is just me, but i actually think Peyton can still make a game of this. I would love to see a crazy comeback.

LOL @ this guy changing the title

i don't think it's necessarily that he needs his WRs... a lot of QBs would look like this with 3 of his top 4 weapons get injured in the middle of the season.
