Does San Diego have anything to play for Week 16? (1 Viewer)

They are locked at 3 or 4 LT is pretty much locked with 15 or less carries this week right?
I don't think so, if they are the 3 seed they won't be in the PATS bracket, if they are 4 they play Pats in 2nd round, reason to roll LT and reason to win big! They need to keep winning and they need to some how get that 3rd seed. Just my opinion

The bigger issue is playing Jax in the WC round as the 4 seed relative to playing Cle/Ten or Pit in the WC as the 3 seed. The Chargers definitely still have things to play for.

Exactly, they will do everything to win out. This week is huge not only because of the playoff implications but it would be a disaster to lose at home to the Broncos after the roll they're on.Also, if you play week 17 - the Raiders will get a heavy dose of LT as usual, especially if the #3 seed is on the line.

:goodposting:I'll take the Browns, please.

Also, LT has said he'd like to win the rushing title again this year and he's locked into a struggle with Willie Parker. Here's hoping FWP goes off for 150 on Thursday

Even if SD had nothing to play for they still need to play well and get momentum going into the playoffs. Getting into the playoffs is not the goal, winning in the playoffs is. They just appear to be hitting their stride despite their injuries and it would be a terrible mistake to take their foot off the pedal at this point.

Gates is the best fantasy play of the week. He shredded Denver the last time these two teams played. He's a lock for 10 receptions, 150 yards and two scores.

H.K. - I know Gates is a stud, I draft him nearly every year, but I'm concerned about his achy back. One thread in the SP last week indicated he wasn't practicing and was a possible GTD. So I picked up Manumaleuna just in case Gates was a late scratch.Manumaleuna vultured a TD from Gates last week. Gates had two lousy weeks in a row. Fortunately I'm still alive in the playoffs, and now I'm considering starting Owen Daniels instead of Gates.I know "you do not bench your studs", but if Gates is still achy, would the Chargers rush him back out on the field ? Just to have his back tighten up again? Not sure how you can say Gates is the best FFL play of the week when he's clearly hurting.

ADP will overtake them both these next two weeks with about 200 yds/game .... :hot:

:hot: I own Gates, why would this be fishing? He destroys Denver every time he faces them.

would we even have this concern over Gates and his back had he caught those two balls for TDs. his stat line could've looked like this:

3-30, 2 TDs

or

2-20, 1 TD

or something like that. not great, but a very solid 8-10 points from your TE. he's still rivers' red zone target when they're not rushing ball and on rare occasions, LT's red zone target when they are.

Per the blogger:Chargers RB Tomlinson Feels "Twinge" In HamstringKevin Acee, San Diego Union-Tribune - San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson said he felt a "twinge" in his hamstring during the team's Week 15 game. The team and Tomlinson are not concerned, however, that it will cause Tomlinson to miss any playing time. LT is hurting, it'll be all Gates, all night on Monday! :nerd:

They have a little to play if you believe the Colts and Pats can both be beat in the second round. I dismiss the talk going on here about the Jags. For one thing it's no guarantee the Jags won't end up as the #6 seed and I'm not sure the Chargers rate the Jags over the Browns or enough at least enought to care about it, after all the records are about the same since Anderson has been the QB. I don't think it matters to the Chargers to play the Pats or Colts but the one little thing the Pats have to play for is the notion that if they end up with the #3 seed and can beat the Pats or Colts than if the Steelers/Jags/Browns can upset the other team than the Chargers would host the AFC Championship game.

i am not 100% sure of the NFL tiebreak system

but SD is 7-3 in AFC conference play while PIT and CLE are 7-4

so it would seem that if H2H doesnt come into play that SD can finish 9-3 in conference and get the 3 seed

huge to play TEN/CLE and then at INDY who SD has already beaten

vs. playing JAX and then @ NE who SD already been mauled by

i'm sure SD would rather play in a dome than freezing, possibly, snowing NE

Alot of you should check back in Friday morning. If the Steelers don't hold serve on the road on a short week, the Browns have a wide open opportunity for the division with CIN and SF left on the schedule, leaving you PIT/JAX/TEN.

I'm a Steeler fan and I still think when healthy they are a very solid football team but the reality of it is they are one of the most dinged up teams in the league and it's taking it's toll on them. Maybe in time for the playoffs they can get everyone but Aaron Smith back but they have some serious injuries to deal with tomorrow night which could prove costly. Than in the final they would be playing a Ravens team in Baltimore that would probably play that game with intensity they played the Pats if they come into that game knowing they could knock the Steelers out of the division race. I don't see the Browns losing so the possibility of the Steelers being a wild card team is high in my opinion and if they are a wild card team they would be the #6 seed and the Chargers likely first round matchup.
