Does the IGNORE feature not work? (1 Viewer)

I recently put my first ever user on ignore. It shows the user in my ignored users list and everything. Yet I am still seeing everything that poster has posted, both posts before and after I added them. Is this an issue with the board upgrade or what?

I'm not talking quotes of the poster, I am talking posts. All of them. It's as if I didn't even put the poster on ignore at all. Weird. Apparently it is an isolated issue.

Something is up with William Munny's ID.  I tried to ignore him and just got a pop up box saying "are you sure?"  but it didn't ignore him.  Then I ignored Eligoesdeep and it brought up the correct follow up box asking if I wanted to ignore posts,  signatures,  mentions etc.

Can we get an admin to look at William Munny's ID to see why we can't ignore him? Dude is useless.

Man, I hope this isn't a thing.  If being useless is a reason for ignoring, I guess nobody is reading my crap.

When I first used the ignore function, I wasn't paying much attention and selected "messages" instead of "posts" by accident. Maybe double check that?

No, I don't even get the box asking what from him I want to ignore.  And it only happens for William Munny.  Happened on PC and mobile.

You're useless in a fun way.  He's useless in an annoying way.  Huge difference. You're OK in my book.

Besides,  the Crunch berries thread gives you an automatic pass in my book.  You have contributed. You're not useless. Chin up,  buttercup!

Having the same issue with Fox Scream

Another fun quirk with the board software. I don't blame keith/fbg's, the people at Invision should find a new line of work. This is terrible.

To ignore a user that has more than one word in the name, i.e. a space (a friggen space breaks the function :lmao: ), you need to hover over the user name in a post and wait for the popup, then select ignore. You apparently can't do it from the "search" within ignore users.

I had added the user but not actually checked the "Posts" checkbox. Didn't realize you had to select what you wanted to ignore.

Thanks.  Gonna have to test this on desktop

You don't have the self control to just skip over posts you don't want to read?  Weird, never understood the need for ignore.

When they tend to be about a third of the posts or more, it's just easier. Not sure what self control has to do with it. Though the irony of you coming in to a thread to complain about not having the self control to skip posts isn't lost on me here.

Seems more like a feature.  I am going to have to get a space out in my name.  Make it harder for all you bastards to ignore me.

You assume people look at who the post is from before reading it.  I know I don't, but I wish I had for your post.

Most people start reading from the top left, you know where the poster's name is.  So sorry it's so difficult for you guys, hopefully they jump right on this issue.

Who would want to ignore you?! :oldunsure:

I'm surprised anyone uses ignore

you would see responses from people to things said by the ignored user that didn't quote them

it would get confusing

and if it worked some people would overuse it the point they only saw posts from a handful of users

and at that point you just might as well start a social club and plan bank heists together

Perfect! I'm usually on mobile so that doesn't work there. And it was particularly handy that Munny had posted in this thread, making it easy to ignore him.
