does UPS knock or just drop and go? (1 Viewer)

We've come home after work to packages on our porch and I've never really thought anything of it. Lately though they just drop it and leave no matter when it is.

Tonight myself , my wife and my daughter were eating dinner and watched the UPS guy come up the driveway. Lots of lights on in the house, we were sitting right inside the door, both vehicles in driveway, and the driver put the packages on the porch and left. Seems odd to me, is this common where you guys live?

They no longer are allowed to knock or ring a bell because in Omaha 2 years ago a ups driver was shot and killed when he knocked to leave a package at the door and a man became so infuriated because he was awaken and I'm just making this stuff up as I go

common where i live. they're only required to knock if a signature is required. same for fedex and usps. u can sign up for an online account with your address on their respective web site and have some control over how deliveries are handled.

All management cares about is speed.  Knocking on doors slows them down.  As does any customer interaction in general.  Im being serious btw.

It sounds plausible though
