Dolphins Claim Gado (1 Viewer)

Samkon Gado, RB HOU

News: According to published reports, the Dolphins have claimed former Texans RB Samkon Gado off waivers Wednesday. "It means a lot," Gado said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "In our profession what a player wants to know the most is, does he have value to a team. So being picked up on waivers rather than becoming a free agent is a big deal." The Dolphins are set to play the Giants Week 8, but Gado will not be on the sidelines in London. "I will not be able to join the team because they are leaving for London (Thursday) and I haven't had time to get my visa," Gado said. "I will be joining the team on Monday."

Analysis: When he does join the team, Gado will give the Dolphins a veteran back to help replace the injured Ronnie Brown (knee), who is out for the season. Gado carried 18 times for 46 yards and one touchdown in three games with the Texans this season. He joined Houston last season after being let go by Green Bay. Gado will compete for carries with Jesse Chatman, Patrick Cobbs and Lorenzo Booker. He might be worth a flier in larger Fantasy formats, but it is probably best to see how the Dolphins intend to utilize Gado before owners rush to the waivers and add him heavily.

Booker is looking like a worse and worse pick...they obviously don't want to play him, and sure they needed a veteran to some extent, but they had Chatman and Cobbs already.

Not to nitpick, and you didn't cite the source, but wasn't Gado traded for Morency at the beginning of last season? Not released by the Packers... :goodposting:

So what . Gado is worthless aniways .
I was more interested in how this might affect Chatman.BTW the source was CBSSportsline.

Regardless of the Gado pickup I feel the Dolphins at 0-7 will be auditioning all of their RBs for the rest of the season.

Chatman and Cobbs aren't exactly the RBs I want to rely on. IIRC, there was talk about working Booker in as a WR. That may have changed, but I'm not going to put too much stock in this move long term.

Wow, he didn't have time to get a visa to travel to Europe? That boggles my mind when you're a professional athlete even if you weren't planning on traveling overseas. He should have been preparing for NFLE anyway.

(1) If you never are going to play overseas, why bother?(2) There is no NFLE anymore.

I am going to guess that the fact he is Nigerian and not American complicates the process of getting a travel visa.

Now if you'll kindly send all the pertinent details related to your bank account, maybe he can get that travel visa and make it to London in time to play this week after all.

Only if he promises to send me a portion of his rich uncle's fortune. :lmao:

i'm going to tell you this is the type of situation Gado thrives in...

when there are no other viable RB options Gado will get it done.

if you need a #3 RB, because of injury...then grab him.
