Dolphins @ Falcons game thread (preseason) (1 Viewer)

2nd Henne pick. He's in midseason form.
Last year I picked him up late in our draft thinking that with Marshall, Bess and a sound running game he would do well....man was I wrong. He looks like they pulled a fan from the parking lot and had him suit up. Perhaps Denver wasn't asking too much for Orton if this is your other alternative...

yep both catches by Jones looked delightful.

I'll say it over and over again, he will put up big #'s, draining from Roddy

why does it drain from Roddy? is there a fixed number of passing yards from Ryan?
I've explained this in my projections thread. Ryan's stats will go up as I see it. But Roddy IMO will "slump" a bit, and by that I mean still finish EASILY in the top 8, but Jones is gonna get a big slice.

Man sometimes these announcers drive me nuts.

Fins have 3rd down with 54 seconds left in the half. Matt Moore scrambles around a bit, gets about within about 1 yard of the LoS and as he's about to get sacked he throws it away.

The announcer the goes on and on about how great of a job it was to get rid of the ball and save the yardage...

...except that he was saving 1 yard, and basically giving Atlanta a free timeout to stop the clock and do something on offense. If he takes the sack, it's the half, if he throws it away then Atlanta can try and score.

Then again, maybe he's just really smart and he knows that the only chance that the fins have of scoring is on defense, so Atlanta getting an extra possession is actually good for them.

Woah, prophetic. Dolphins force a fumble deep in ATL territory and get a TD before the half. I take it back, this announcer is a genius.

If he doesn't stop the clock there they probably don't get the TD with 13 secs left, after the Atlanta fumble.

Never mind.

Matt Ryan looked very strong in his two possessions. The Phins D may have been pathetic but Ryan looked to be very consistent and accurate.

Julio looked good on his touches flashing his speed and at a minimum catching the ball when thrown to him.

Turner didn't look as slow as I anticipated though the holes he had to go through were pretty darn big.

Falcons 1st team looked excellent for the 1st pre-season game!!!

How did Thomas look?
Had a nice reception w/ run after catch, but did nothing behind the Dolphins line.Matt Moore had a nice game - showed a good understanding of where to go with the ball unlike his starter, even showed some good arm strength on the deep throw

What about J Rodgers?
I'd like to know this as well, I was watching the Skins game.
Looks to be 4th on the depth chart behind Gartrell Johnson at this stage. Not many touches.
Didn't see him in the game, maybe I missed him. I wouldn't say 4th on depth chart, I'd lean towards rookie only having one week of practice before first game.Just looked, he had 5 rushes for 16 yards. Must have been in the second half, I just watched the first half.

I think Snelling is going to eat a significant number of Turner's touches this year. Not a ton, but a significant amount enough to drop him down a few spots.

The other rookie started the game and was heavily featured. Gartrell and Quiz are both listed as 3rd string on the team website, could very well become 4th on the depth chart this season.
