Dolphins v. Chiefs (1 Viewer)

Can someone tell me why on earth Ronnie Brown is the deep guy for the opening kickoff of a preseason game? That's just suicidal.

Croyle looking very good on his first series... 5-6 with a TD; nice!
Well there goes the theory that Croyle is worse than T. Green. Now with LJ behind him KC is not nearly as bad as some folks are predicting.

He's had all day to make his throws, Chiefs' OL stepping up their game for him, no defensive pressure whatsoever.

Then Croyle shoots himself in the foot... Horrible rainbow throw for an easy INT. Didn't look off the DB first, stared at the target the whole time.

ESPN-HD, the only way to fly... Better picture than last year, too.

it's my wife's birthday so i've misse dthe game. did Ronnie Brown do anything?
Ronnie Ran hard and had some nice runs. He had one real nice run were there was nothing there and bounced outisde for a really nice gain. He is showing nice cutback ability. The runs he didn't have success on wasn't his fault, it was miami's offensive line and the two TE(Martin and Peelle) both had horrible blocks. Ronny had no were to run right when he got the ball. Neither team is show alot of there plays on offense. Still a very basic play calling scheme.

Ginn dances around too much when he returns. That drove me nuts when he played for the Bucks.
Guess he wasn't very successful returning punts and kick offs.
Major difference between the NFL and Indiana (many of his returns were at their expense) Tonight averaging 1.5 so yes he hasn't been very successful.
From the returns I saw (2 of them) he had no where to run. The KC coverage was outstanding. So what's he suppose to do? Without blocking he, or anyone else for that matter, isn't going anywhere. Not a fair criticism of him IMO.

Am I wrong or is this the 2nd preseason game in a row that Lorenzo Booker hasnt played in?

In many of his returns for TDs he didn't dance around and just ran straight forward. There are very few people that could keep up with him. I know Hester could but not too many people.

He didn't even have to look off the DB on that pass. Not sure which TE was the target, but he was wide open on the sideline for days. I think the coverage was even terrible, that's how bad that throw was. Ginn didn't look healthy, regardless of his PRs. Slow on the giddy-up and very hesitant. Lemon did a very bad job protecting the ball when the pocket broke down on a play which led to an easy strip.Kolby Smith looked pretty good on his 1 catch breaking tackles against a prevent D on 3rd and very long. Play wasn't desingned for much more than improving field position, but Smith made the most out of it. Brown is flying under the radar. He looked sharp on some cuts and had a nice dump-off reception in the middle of the field for 10. I'm curious to see if a healthy L. Booker is going to take away from him, but right now he looks like he will be a solid RB2.I hadn't heard much about WR C. Hannon (KC) but I wouldn't let his box score fool you. If Herm saw the Butterfingers that I saw on his TD catch and that terrible reverse bobble, I wouldn't worry about him moving up any depth charts anytime soon.Beck looked relatively solid and made some good decisions. His first incompletion could have drawn a PI if he lifted the pass up a bit.

I think you're correct. That is surprising considering the lack of talent behind Brown.
I gotta tell you Anthony,it's making me nuts. I knew he was struggling running betweenthe tackles but you would think he would at least sniff some 4th quarter carries ?!!?
He had a baby and missed the walk through for this game, thus by team rules couldn't play. It sounds like he's breaking ankles and making plays in practice. I have no idea what to expect from him this season, but I wouldn't let tonight or the last game bother me at all.

Whew... CC,you just saved me from cutting this guy. Another reason why I love this place !!

OK, you really don't sound too informed now.

Thanks for the info. At least this makes some sense now.

Also, I see no burst or acceleration at all. I don't think he's 100%.
Welcome to the world of Teddy Ginn Jr.

Well other than the fact that HE'S RETURNING KICKOFFS IN F%&%(*#ING PRESEASON GAMES, he looked pretty decent. Line didn't look all that fantastic, though. But seriously, why do you have your only decent RB back there returning kickoffs when you drafted a return specialist #9? If he gets hurt returning kicks I may go postal.
