Dolphins WRs (1 Viewer)

Miami's WRs in week 1:

Marshall - 13 targets for 8/53/0

Bess - 7 targets for 6/51/0

Hartline - 3 targets for 0/0/0

Was Henne under pressure alot or were the short passes a part of the game plan?

I didn't see the game so I assuming that Hartline was just used to stretch the field vertically & Marshall & Bess ran medium to shot routes.

Will the target ratio stay about the same?

The Buffalo DBs were having a very good game. Lots of tight coverage and really laying some hard hits as well.

Henne did try to connect with Marshall on a deep route. Ball was slightly underthrown but Marshall had such a big gap that he still should have caught it. It would have been a 50+ TD play

Yea, Bess and BMarsh are the only MIA WR's to own. Fasano may be a decent bye week TE. But this team is a run first offense and that wont change with BMarsh in town. Henne is basically being using as a Kyle Orton. Game manager who they want to make the safe throws. Take an occasional shot or 2 deep to BMarsh. Otherwise, this offense will be as boring as it was last season

Overall, Henne was very quick to check down last week, to the ire of many fans. He did have Marshall wide open on a long TD but he uncharacteristically underthrew him. That said, some players have said that the gameplan was purposely vanilla in order not to show too much.

The Dolphins will be throwing a ton this weekend.

Marshall will have a big game.

Hartline will have a decent game

Bess is the safety blanket.

Other than Marshall all the other options are week to week. There is no other way to look at it. My hope is they work Ronnie Brown into the passing game more and more. He is a such a weapon in the passing game and he needs to be utilized that way. He should have a minimum of 3-4 passes thrown to him every week in the flat and on screen passes.

That long pass to Marshall was into the wind and got hung up and fell short of the target. Marshall had to make a big adjustment and got his hands on it but his legs weren't under him and he couldn't hold onto it. That same play in South Fla is an easy touchdown. There was next to no pressure on Henne with a couple of exceptions. Marshall was abusing the Bills db's in the first half although McKelvin played much tighter in the second half breaking up a few plays.

Spot on observation.

Last year, Bess had at least 3 catches in every game (3 - 6 times, 4 - 3 times, 5 - 2 times, 6 or more - 5 times). Obviously he has value in PPR scoring, but he only has 3 TDs in 2 years and that won't change much with Marshall in the mix this year. Hartline may be the Phins fastest WR, but he's had lots of drops recently so I would stay away from him. Miami would like to run the ball alot - last year Henne had the one great game agains the Jets, but many of his big yardage games came when the team was down big (Tennessee and Houston). Still, Marshall will get lots of targets and should approach 100/1200/8, especially if the defense struggles. There is hope that the defense, under Nolan, will do better than last year.

Disagree strongly. They want to shorten the game, not extend it.
