Domanick Davis is expected to be placed on injured reserve, according to Houston Chronicle writer John McClain.McClain, one of the most dependable NFL writers in the country, would be "shocked" if Davis plays this season. We'll find out Saturday if he'll go in I.R.. In the meantime, keeping moving Wali Lundy and Vernand Morency up your board. Sep. 1 - 6:06 pm et

It might make more sense to put him on the PUP list and see if he makes any progress. After 6 games if he's not better they can still put him on IR and be no worse the wear.

He's not eligible for the PUP because he already passed a physical at the beginning of training camp.

he's ineligible for the pup list -- some arcane nfl rule. so, he can be cut, put on ir, or they can keep him on the 53-man roster until he's better.

they've already said they won't cut him, so does he go on ir or stay on the roster for a while? ir seems the most likely choice.

feel bad for dd, but it certainly boosts the value of lundy (or morency).

As far as I know, there are different rules for training camp and the regular season. If they had to already submit a list for the season opener that's another thing. I do not belive that having passed a physical has anything to do with it.

Not doubting you but I'm curious as to what the rule is for this one. Did you see this somewhere spelled out and do you have a link?

Actually, thats the exact reason.

"Under league rules, anyone that passes a team physical to open camp and practices can't be placed on the PUP list. This means Houston would have to release Davis or place him on injured reserve if they don't feel they can use a roster spot waiting for him to get healthy." Houston Chronicle

I still am interested in reading the rule, wherever it may be posted. That's the thing with some of this obscure rules . . . you can't find them anywhere on the net.

Just a quick reply...

- DD is not on the Texans' depth chart at all. He was there yesterday listed as injured: Depth Chart

- Antowain Smith got cut and Chris Taylor assumes the #3 role.

- Apparently Houston has no interest in Ron Dayne with his turf toe injury, so that speculation should likely die down soon.

- The only Bronco rumored to be getting a look if he's cut is Bradlee Van Pelt.

Oh and the Texans are likely to carry only two QBs too on the 53 man roster. If we did grab Van Pelt he'd be on the PS.

It's in here somewhere. But the gist is that since he passed the physical before training camp and hasn't suffered any new injury since then, he can't go on PUP.

As I have indicated earlier in other threads the past few months, Chris Taylor is one of the best RB deep sleepers in the NFL. Don't be surprised to see him starting by the end of the season. I said the same about Dom Davis in this forum and the replies I received were "are you crazy".

I hate July drafts. Hate them. :wall:
I had some as far back as March. And in the ones in April and May I thought Davis was an uber stud after the Texans passed on Bush. Unfortunately, my teams are LITTERED with Davis on them.
It wouldn't be so bad because I'm traditionally a strong drafter but I have Tatum Bell on that team also. I have four $ league teams and I try to spread the wealth if I don't get one of the first three picks. I have SA and LJ in my keeper (LJ was cheap because I got him very cheap last year)DD and Caddy in oneWestbrook and J Jones in a PPRand McGahee and K. Jones in a Uberdynasty where we went baseball and hockey firstI have legitimate backups in all the leagues except the DD/Bell league where my #2 is going to be Barlow (Thankfully I got him in the 8th). I may have to start Brandon Jacobs in that league during bye weeks. :wall:

as a DD/Lundy/Morency owner i sure hope they put him on IR so i can follow suit in my kepper league and save a roster spot for the season.

Thanks MT . . . and there's a diamond somewhere in Africa worth $8 million. Now go find it.
