I beleive Rhodes was suspended for 4 games, this should make him eligible in just a few weeks. What fantasy value will he have at that point? Worth a roster spot?

I believe Lamonts play today will tell us. If he puts up good numbers against a stout Denver, in Denver, then I think he helps secure his starting position. Then Rhodes becomes a backup that will probably get a little more PT than a normal backup, but not enough to challenge Jordan as your #2 RB. (Or a #3 for some of us :wall: )Not to hijack, but what are thoughts on Lamont with Culpepper driving the team this week? With Denvers top corners, will we see him dump the ball off alot to Jordan making him a great start in PPR leagues? He had 9 last week, but that was with McCown.

He's eligible to play week 5, but the Raiders have a bye week that week so he won't be back till week 6. Jordan has 4 weeks to nail down the job. That's it. We can discuss this again week 5 but until then we just have to wait and see what Jordan does. The worse he does potentially the more value rhodes will have....

This is one of those cases where someone somewhere says Rhodes will push Jordan, and then people keep repeating until it gains weight.

Rhodes is the very definition of a mediocre back. Its been 6 years since he did anything significant.

He will be a backup and nothing else.

You need to remember that Rhodes was only able to eek out a paltry 3.4 ypc last year, despite playing in a far superior Indy offense. If Rhodes could only produce at a 3.4 ypc clip behind Indy's O'line, with Peyton as his QB & receiving threats the likes of Harrison, Wayne & Dallas Clark, I don't see him producing much in Oakland's offense even if he were to beat out Jordan...which I think unlikely.

I honestly don't think he ever got his legs back after that ACL surgery a few years back. He looked pretty slow to me last year & I think he was lucky to cash in off of his Super bowl performance.
