I’m skeptical of that result.  I’ll bet the article should have said 78% thought politics were a source of stress in their lives - the highest of any source. I’m guessing people were able to choose multiple answers. Later they say 51% chose job, 51% chose money, 37% chose health, etc.

Frankly, if 78% truly thought politics was the biggest stress causer in their life, I’d be happy about that.  It tells me that people don’t have as many serious problems as I thought.

It's marketing. I end up saying that about a whole bunch of stuff in modern culture lately but, apparently, no one is offended by many of their tastes & sensibilities not being their own anymore.

A quarter century ago, Roger Ailes talked to a French psychologist who was working on Madison Avenue who told him that next to sex, rage was the thing which put TV viewers in the state of mind most receptive to advertising. If you'll look at the on-air talents Ailes developed - Chris Matthews, Bill O'Reilly, Jim Cramer - even before he conceived of Fox News, you'll see Ailes followed the bluster/outrage/paranoia/loudestvoiceintheroom formula with money, not politics, in mind. G'ahead, be suckers...
