Donald Brown (1 Viewer)

hart had insanely huge holes and brown was getting hit in the backfield. i think part of their gameplan which massively backfired was to assume it was a passing play whenever hart was in
You were watching a different game than the rest of us. In fact, i sincerely doubt you watched any of it to cobble together this analysis.Hart ran hard, broke tackles, weaved out of traffic, fought for every inch and wound up much of the time getting so much more. Brown, in contrast, ran straight into the chest of every defender who stood in his way. It was pathetic.

he was just dropped in my keeper league.

i don't think he has enough value to pick him up with short rosters.

For the OP... If you can't make up your own mind on who to start, you have no one but yourself to blame for seeking help elsewhere and following someone else's advice.

jump off a cliff.

do you do it?
Is it Dodds or Bloom suggesting it?
:lmao: Which one makes you jump? jk --nice to see you Doc Oc.
Thanks for the info The U and ftbllnerd...
this is the only kind of post I have ever seen you make.
Sorry.. my parents raised me to be polite. I don't recall thanking anyone else for anything.. (ok last year I thanked the dude who said grab MSW). That is alot.. I'll try and cut down. :goodposting: p.s. update on Hart:

Mike Hart will have an MRI on his injured ankle.

Hart was having a terrific game against the Texans Monday night before rolling his ankle at the end of a run. He looked to be in pain as he hobbled off the field but stood on the sideline for the rest of the game instead of immediately going to the locker room. We'll update his condition when the test results are revealed.

Source: Associated Press

Even in college Hart played nicked a lot--seemed like he was always nursing some type of injury and was questionable for the game.. but he played through it.... Love his motor.. 100% on every play.

Fleaflicker reporting that Brown was taken out of the 4th quarter because the coach wanted to see Javarius James play.
That's what Caldwell said today but I'm not buying it. He honestly wanted to put in a player who hadn't played a game in the NFL before when the Colts needed to run the ball to put the game away? That's really something that was in his game plan? I like Caldwell but that doesn't pass the smell test. We know the Colts are ultra-secretive when it comes to injuries and ESPN reported last night that Brown was "down." They didn't say what happened but they clearly seemed to know Brown wasn't coming back in the game. Put it all together and the logical conclusion is that Brown got hurt again.
If you know anyone who DVR'd the game, check out the last play (kneel down) of the game. Brown was in for that. I doubt he would have been if he was injured.

Donald Brown is not likely to be valuable if INDY were to play 7 on 7 against Our Lady of Perpetual Motion practice squad with 1st and 1 on the goaline. Nor do I believe that he simply needs the right situation ...he is in one now. I have kept him for 3 years ...done with this guy. Who wants him - I would like a PayDay - King Size only. Tks.

Campbell said Brown's activity level in the Houston game was scripted prior to the game and that is why James got the work late in the game. I'm not sure I believe him, but that's his public stance.

If Hart is hurt and Addai can't come back, Brown and James will be splitting carries this week I would guess. As bad as Brown looked, it is hard to cut him right now.

Depends who's available on your league's WW. Blount and BGE are available in mine and I'm bidding on both and dropping Brown this week regardless of Addai and Hart's status. I may not get them but I like both of them much more than Brown going forward.

" Colts | Donald Brown was not injured Week 8 Wed Nov 3, 12:21 PMIndianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said RB Donald Brown did not suffer an injury in the team's Week 8 game when he did not return to the game in the fourth quarter, reports Phil Richards, of The Indianapolis Star. Caldwell said the team had a scripted amount of time Brown would play in the game and would not go away from the plan.Link to storyDonald Brown player page"

I don't get the OP in this thread. Did he not check back again after Thursday or is he in one of those archaic leagues where rosters lock really early? FBGs had moved Hart way up and Brown way down by Sunday morning. If you looked beyond the cheatsheet at all the idea was "GENERIC INDY RB will have value this week because they play the Texans at home and, oh yeah, Manning is the QB." As soon as the news started sounding iffy on Brown I picked them both up.

Just from how the Hart injury looked (which can be misleading), I'm guessing Brown plays a lot this week, but he's a lot less attractive on the road at Philly. You could do worse as a desperation play...again, if Hart is out.

Looking ahead to this Sunday...

According to Colts.com Mike Hart sat out Wednesday's practice with an Ankle injury. Addai also sat out with a neck injury. Meanwhile, Donald Brown was not listed on the injury report so I assume he practiced fully. Brown could be in a position to get the vast majority of the carries versus the Eagles.

Full practice today for Brown.
If Hart and Addai aren't practicing and Brown is practicing all week, he is going to get a heavy workload this week. The big question is how effective he will be....and I'm thinking the Colts want to find that out as well. He only had one full practice before this past weekend's game, so I don't think it was just a made up story that the coach said they were limiting his plays during the game....he had barely practiced in the past several weeks. This is truly his big opportunity to show what he can do and I'll be very interested in watching how he does as the primary back (if the other guys are out).

Awesome. Thanks for the help.
As someone who once asked the same questions, I'll help.Apparently a while back some tool made an incredibly ugly t-shirt that was about the gayest thing ever conceived of by man. He decided to do a little guerrila marketing here on this board and made some post about how if your kicker gets hurt or your WR1 drops the ball, instead of venting your frustration or explaining why you lost to the last place team in your league, you could just point to the shirt. Thus  (ptts acronym)Black dot simply means you are only making a post to watch the subject, as it will then show as a thread you have posted in and be different from ones you have not. People use it to mean the same as :lmao: to mean that a subject bears watching.Honda I don't have the etymology for but it just means that the subject is already covered in another thread.HTH.

He's going to suck, just like he has his entire pro career. Time to stop wasting ink/pixels on this clown.

 Thanks for clarifying some of the lingo Clifford, something tells me you've been here longer than 5 months

Honda I don't have the etymology for but it just means that the subject is already covered in another thread.

HTH.
The term Honda derives from the famous Honda commercial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2VCfOC69jc

It went viral years ago, before anyone was using the term viral. Soon thereafter, thread upon repetitive thread was started on forums such as this one to discuss it.

Hence, now a thread whose topic is already being discussed elsewhere is a :honda:
