Donald Brown (1 Viewer)

I think even though Fitz with Kobb is lacking at best, you still have to go with what we all know Brown and the colts to be, most likely down or fighting for the win, where as at least with Fitz there is a stronger chance that he will out perform the first weeks of his season

i only have Brown in one league (where i Upside Downed the draft) and I am really disappointed that he doesn't catch any passes. My bad for not seeing the change in OC's to Arians did to the offense... PIT RBs never had a ton of catches. He totally looks lost when he runs and only has some decent straight line speed. Totally missed on this one and just glad a couple offseason offers in dynasty didn't get accepted. Not sure how Brown is going to be a starter next year... maybe the change will happen sooner than that.

I will literally debate cutting him if he doesn't perform this week. I'm not about to compare him to AP talent wise, but I think AP is a good measure as to how bad JAX really is at defending the run. He absolutely tore them up but was not able to do much against a transitioning young IND defense. The difference between what Foster/Tate were able to do vs. MIA and JAX was night and day as well (again I'm not comparing them to Brown talent wise). This is a premiere match up on paper.

I drafted this bum as a RB3 - I admit I was snowed by that long pass from Luck in the preseason game. That’s what I get. That said, due to necessity, I’ll be rolling with him at flex. My other flex options all have timeshares and/or question marks (Ingram, K. Smith, D. Moore, K. Britt) and I can’t trust they will see consistent action. Brown has definitely been a disappointment, but… a game at home vs. the 31st ranked rush defense. Like others have said here, this matchup is as good as it gets.

He certainly has zero respect from any of the FF “experts.” He is absolutely buried on the cheatsheets this week.

I'm stuck with a RB2 by committee, and I'm gonna go with Brown this week over K Smith & a few other no-so-good options.

Cutting him is not an option in my league, every RB who even touches the field is rostered.

Yep which is why I'm guessing he blows up and ends up as a top 15 RB

That's cuz he sucks. Pick up Ballard while you still can get him for free.

Testify, brother. We have pretty shallow benches, but even so it is hard to come by any RBs on waivers who see significant carries. I'm not going to consider picking up Ballard until I see a glimmer from him. 10 attempts for 19 yards and 1 target/0 catches over 2 games is just not worthy of a roster spot. Could be he gets worked into games and proves himself over the course of the season, but I think it's much more likely the Indy running game is just a fantasy wasteland across the board this year.

Sorry, I don't get the alarm.

Brown got a TD in Game 1, that was to me a decent day and a decent value.

Game 2, Luck was winging it like crazy and Frazier obviously directed the defense to force the Colts to throw (which they did in spades...).

If the Colts are going to run it in, it will be with Brown.

In the MIN game, the Colts had one chance I think inside the Vikes 5, Brown got a carry from the 3 yard line - he got nothing but the scoring chance was there. I will take it.

I'm not actually serious about cutting bait, I'll just be really disappointed to be wasting bench space.

Ballard looks even worse. No thanks.
First of all, at worst, Ballard looks as inconsistent as Brown-- but certainly not worse. 2nd, this is Brown's 4th year, this is Ballard's 4th month. In other words, we've seen Brown's ceiling, and it isn't that good. Ballard can, and likely will, get better.

I'm not in the business of cutting a full fledged starting RB with no other talent on his team. Drafted in the rb3-4 range I have nothing to complain about. If he doesn't explode this week then I'd been worried if he will ever be fantasy worthy, but now I'm still OK with him as my 3rd back.

There is no reason to cut him outright, but leaving him on your bench for the year, with a flex-sub or bye week filler for him from time to time.
