Donald Jones, WR, Buffalo Bills (1 Viewer)

Thoughts on Donald Jones this season? With David Nelson out for the season, I'm hearing Jones will man the slot in 3 WR sets now, along with his regular starting role as the Bills WR2. He is in his 3rd season (3rd year breakout??) and has said his goal for this season is to reach 1000 yards receiving.

Ppr must have on the end of your bench. That's before Nelson was hurt. Your going to hear a lot of Cruz comparisons in this thread, the only difference between the two is Eli Manning.

Jones is a good pickup in a ppr. For non ppr leagues, also keep an eye on rookie speedster TJ Graham who's getting his shot outside opposite Stevie Johnson this week.

nelson missed some time last year and jones didn't do a thing. i'd pick him up in deep leagues but i don't expect much

Nelson played every game last year. Jones is the one that eventually landed on IR due to an ankle after some ups and downs.

I think he'll see a bump in value/production with a move into the slot (due to Nelson's injury) and the loss of Fred Jackson. Fitz doesn't do well throwing outside but loves to work the middle on slants and crosses. Spiller and Steve Johnson will get theirs, and then Chandler/Jones figure to be next in line.

And that's a HUGE difference. Fitz isn't even half the QB Manning is...unless we're talking about interceptions on a bad day. In no way is there Victor Cruz upside here.Jones will have some decent games in the 6/70 range, which definitely makes him roster material in a 12-14 team PPR. Otherwise, Fitz will continue to spread the ball around with Stevie and the opposing defensive backs being his favorite targets.

What's the deal with his health? Can he be that guy in New England?
The Pats did not guarantee any part of his contract. Not one dime. No signing bonus, nothing. They can cut him at any time and not even take a salary cap hit. He may end up on the roster if he busts his butt in training camp, can pick up the system, and works well with Brady. But the Pats going in position doesn't appear to be that they think he is someone that will be sticking around. Guess we'll have to see who else they sign, who they draft, and how thinks shake out by opening day.
