Donald Jones (1 Viewer)

When David Nelson went down earlier this season, many believed Jones would see an uptick in snaps and targets. The former was true, but he didn't initially see enough love from Fitzpatrick to garner any fantasy attention. Something must have changed as BUF came out of their bye because Jones has seen more targets than Stevie since then (9 and 10 targets to Stevie's 7 and 9) and has also put up respectable PPR numbers (6/64/0 and 6/74/1). The fact that he's putting up respectable PPR stats is a bit surprising. Anyone who has followed Jones' career would tell you that he's a speedy deep threat, but he's shown versatility in his 3rd year, something I wasn't expecting. The coaching staff and teammates have taken notice..

“Donald is starting to emerge as another weapon for us,” head coach Chan Gailey said, per the team's official website. “So you get Stevie (Johnson) and Donald and Scott (Chandler) and we’re starting to develop some diversity where they can’t just look at one thing and stop one thing which is where we need to be.”

“I think Donald has really grown this year,” Chandler said. “He’s starting to get a really good feel for the offense and his niche in the offense. A versatile guy that can play inside and outside and has really been an asset for our team.”

There's a lot of positives here, but it's not all good. The passing game isn't exactly prolific with noodle arm Fitzpatrick behind the helm. Although Jones has seen an uptick in targets recently, he's still not a top option in this offense either. I will say though, that he should make for a decent W3/flex for the remainder if the targets keep on coming. I'll be watching him more closely, starting tonight in what is a plus match up versus a MIA secondary allowing 5th most points to apposing WRs. Specifically, MIA has been exploited in slot coverage this year, making this an even more favorable match up for Jones. Thank for reading these couple paragraphs about a possible flex.

Due to byes, I have something else to watch tonight (besides Spiller), as he starts for me tonight.

Go Bills!

Desperate times this week, one can only hope he can repeat last week.

Edited to add just how desperate things are for me this week-Am starting the Bills D. :bag: as NE facing my Colts D didn't seem like a good idea and the Seahawks are off.

He was under the radar a few weeks ago. B2b TD & 70 games puts you on the radar.
Under the radar is a rather subjective term. Die hard fantasy players are/should be well aware of his uptick of targets and production. However, he's only owned in 14% of Yahoo leagues, 28% of CBS leagues, and 38% of MFL leagues. If you are owned in less than half of most leagues, IMO, you're under the radar.ETA - Plus, the last time a topic was started about D. Jones on this prestigious site was on Sept. 12th. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of buzz surrounding him.

He's kinda like Brian Hartline.....every time I decide to give him a shot in the starting line-up he fizzles  Having said that, I'm giving both a shot tonight in a coupla different leagues.

If you found another Jones thread that recent, why not just add to that? Always good to have the history/discussion.

Starting him in one league with Nicks, S. Rice, Chris Johnson and Roethlisberger (can flex QB) out this week. I can honestly say I wasn't aware of how well he was doing. I saw him score against NE in a scroll, but never looked into him until I realized I needed someone. Short benches in this league so there are always decent WR-TEs on the waiver wire. He seemed like the best to me.

Could I be any more wrong this year? Between Hartline, Donald jones, Taiwan jones, Kyle Rudolph, Greg Olsen, Dez Bryant, Darren McFadden, I have had a goose egg in my lineup almost every week. Good luck guessing when these fools will actually show up. Very frustrating.

Traded him as a throw in for Dennis Pitta (who is benched) and guy decided to use him against me this week. Now I'm in a 3.1 pt hole.

:lmao:
