Don't drink alcohol on the plane to the UAE or you go to jail (1 Viewer)

What? People get their passports taken away everyday there.  My buddy got arrested and would have gone to jail for having a pocket knife in his backpack.  A girl had to have one of the guys in our crew order Starbucks for her because the cashier wouldn’t take her order.  There are sex and work slaves littered everywhere throughout the city.  It might not be Syria, but it’s also not America.
Yeah, I don't understand why anyone would go the middle east. Gee, sorry I wanted to have a few drinks on my flight. Oh wait it's a woman, throw her a@@ in jail. Great countries over there.

I have no desire to visit a country where alcohol is prohibited.

ETA:  Here are the countries that prohibit alcohol:

Afghanistan
Bangladesh
Brunei
India (only in the states of Gujarat, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland, and the union territory of Lakshadweep.)
Iran
Kuwait
Libya
Saudi Arabia
Sudan
UAE (only Sharjah)
Yemen
Pakistan (only for Muslims)

Other than India and UAE, I have no desire to visit any of those other countries either. But alcohol has nothing to do with it; I just don't want to get kidnapped and/or murdered.

Okay, I'll try this one last time. Her "story" is weird. Not the fact that she did something that got her in trouble. Her claim of what got her in trouble--the one glass of wine on the plane--is weird. The explanation that's being given by the UAE authorities that she tried to enter the country on an expired passport, got confrontational, and recorded the guys who were talking to her makes a lot more sense.
