Don't get too excited Charger Fans (1 Viewer)

I'm a Steeler fan, and last year I was stunned to see them start out 1-3. Then they played Kansas City and just beat the snot out of them, the way SD handled Denver on Sunday. Here we go, I thought, the SB champions are back! Turned out it was a one week mirage...

And that's what this Sunday was, too. The Chargers have much of the same talent as last year, but there's something wrong. Not all of it's Turner, I'm guessing. Some of it is that teams have figured out that outside of Gates they have no WR's to speak of, and their pass defense is horrible, especially against teams that spread the field. They don't currently have the personnel to deal with these issues, so it's not going to be a special year. They might make the playoffs by default, since its perhaps the worst division in football, but even if they do, a quick one and done is likely.

And this has slowed Gates down in what way? They know it's going to him, and still can't stop him.

This gets my vote for most insightful, relevant and useful post of the year.

From the same man (?) that brought you the big secret of how Dallas' D was "exposed" last night for giving up all of 3 points despite 6 turnovers. Good stuff here. :homer:

psshh...they were worthless last year at 14-2.

I don't even know what the issue is this year.

because I'm sick of hearing about the most overhyped team in the history of football, let's just set the record straight on last year, so all these chargers fans can get over their amazement.

ok, they filled up the pro bowl, and had this awesome 14-2 d-line, right?

playoffs -- got their asses predictably beaten down --- can't remember the result, but it should've been 20.

ranked 11th in pts allowed, right ahead of new orleans.

when you look at how many close games they played against mediocre teams, how many points they gave up, and their record against playoff teams, how can anyone possibly be surprised when the game results start to slide off on the other side of the fence?

it's happening to the jets, too.
