I'm a Steeler fan, and last year I was stunned to see them start out 1-3. Then they played Kansas City and just beat the snot out of them, the way SD handled Denver on Sunday. Here we go, I thought, the SB champions are back! Turned out it was a one week mirage...
And that's what this Sunday was, too. The Chargers have much of the same talent as last year, but there's something wrong. Not all of it's Turner, I'm guessing. Some of it is that teams have figured out that outside of Gates they have no WR's to speak of, and their pass defense is horrible, especially against teams that spread the field. They don't currently have the personnel to deal with these issues, so it's not going to be a special year. They might make the playoffs by default, since its perhaps the worst division in football, but even if they do, a quick one and done is likely.
