But to answer your question, when does't frosting make something better?
You drinking a pop with that iced donut, cowpoke? You guys keep saying frosted. I believe the term you are looking for is "iced".
"an icing is generally thinner and glossier," while frosting is "a thick, fluffy mixture, such as buttercream, used to coat the outside of a cake."You drinking a pop with that iced donut, cowpoke?
Hop along, cassideech."an icing is generally thinner and glossier," while frosting is "a thick, fluffy mixture, such as buttercream, used to coat the outside of a cake."
DeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeliciousSo you're the idiot that buys those
You're gonna have to take it up with Dunkin' Donuts , Entenmann's, and a bunch of other places. You guys keep saying frosted. I believe the term you are looking for is "iced".
Ok help me out here. What's a cake donut and what's a non-cake one?Have a donut once or twice a year. But if I have a choice, it's a chocolate covered cake donut. Don't really like non-cake at all. Not even remotely tempted by the others.
There are cake donuts and there are raised (regular or plain) donuts. The cake donuts have a heavier (more cake-like) density. Regular or raised ones are more light and airy.Ok help me out here. What's a cake donut and what's a non-cake one?
Raised donuts are also called yeast donuts. See Krispy Kreme or Dunkin glazed for delicious example. There are cake donuts and there are raised (regular or plain) donuts. The cake donuts have a heavier (more cake-like) density. Regular or raised ones are more light and airy.
I don't want to steal your schtick so if there's not a video of you putting frosting on a donut and taking it down whole then I may have to go vote for GM.I've never seen ####ing frosting on a donut.
I like donuts, but I rarely eat them. I like the powdered sugar and original dunkin donut (which is the cake one with the knob on it). I also like the glazed krispy kreme. Donuts usually make me feel a bit nauseous after eating them. I think it is from all the sugar.

* I actually agree, and Krispy Kreme has your back.
Speaking of Krispy Kreme, I could eat like 6 of those glazed rounds of airy goodness without blinking.
I could also spend hours just watching the machine making them, so that's the kind of person you're dealing with here.
Krispy Kreme still lights up their sign that says "Hot Now" whenever fresh hot donuts have just been cooked. My friends back where I grew up in the land of the original Dunkin' Donut may hate me for this, but there is nothing better than a Hot Krispy Kreme. Love DD, but the fresh warm Krispy Kreme is just spectacular.
Crullers are pretty, pretty good.frosted chocolate cruller for me, please and thank you.
AHA!JFC people.
Icing is thinner and glossier. Frosting is what is used on cakes, thick and fluffy.
Cake donuts have a soft but dense interior. Yeast donuts are lighter and "airy", pretty much any glazed donut.
Fake newsImo....
If it's a regular circle donut with white stuff on top and rainbow sprinkles....the white stuff is called FROSTING.
If it's a regular circle glazed donut, i think either glaze or icing can be used to describe the coating. Frosting wouldn't work here.
Glazed <> iced <> frosted
Having lived in Europe, Australia and America, it is quite clear that the terms frosting, icing and even glaze are used in interchangeable ways within recipes. However, they actually ARE quite different, as seen below!
Frosting
Frosting is the thickest of the three. It has a cream or a butter base and generally will have a buttery taste. It was first invented in 1915 by Mrs. Fred W. Gurney.
Icing
Icing is a lot thinner than frosting and is glossier. In general, it has a sugar or egg white base, but butter or cream can be added to it. Its taste is generally a lot more sugary than frosting. It was ‘invented’ in 1769 by Elizabeth Raffald.
Glaze
Sugar glaze is the thinnest and glossiest of these three. It is made from a sugar base and is often translucent.
I've seen it on the menu at burger places, but can't be nearly as good as grilled cheese sandwiches as the the bun.Donuts as buns for your burger is the real winner here
Black Iced Donut Skeptic?iced donut - I've never heard this expression so figure it's something too vernacular to even consider for this. google shows nothing for it, so I also assume shuke is probably making this one up.
I love cronuts, but they cost $4.50 each when they were all the rage a few years ago. I haven't even looked for them the last time I was in a donut shop. Hopefully they're more reasonably priced these days.three pages and no cronut mention. good.
Britt's donuts melt in your mouth.
There have been several years where my kids chose donuts over a birthday cake. Solid choice, IMO.Had donuts instead of wedding cake at my wedding. Power move. cc: @Harry Manback
You've obviously never had a properly prepared Screaming Viking. The key is to slightly bruise the cucumber prior to serving. It was a sick and twisted joke by someone a long time ago to add jelly to a donut.
And to all those ever since who have been perpetuating the joke by acting like they like them :middlefinger:
Jelly donuts are as bad as a screaming viking.
