If Doug Gabriel will indeed be the Patriots #1 WR, what kind of numbers can we expect him to put up?
Where'd you hear he's number 1?AtomicDogg97 said:If Doug Gabriel will indeed be the Patriots #1 WR, what kind of numbers can we expect him to put up?
This could be close, I have him peggedfor a couple of more TDs.Well Branch had 79-998-5 last year in 16 games.I would say Gabriel could be good for 57-695-2 TD's if he plays in the remaining 15 games.
nodid he play sunday?
XHe played, but did not have any catches.nodid he play sunday?
I believe he was dressed but did not see action. Please correct me if I am mistaken.XHe played, but did not have any catches.nodid he play sunday?
1-10-NYJ20 (15:00) T.Brady pass incomplete short left to D.Gabriel. 3-2-NYJ2 (13:22) T.Brady pass incomplete short left to D.Gabriel. 1-10-NE31 (4:27) T.Brady pass deep middle intended for D.Gabriel INTERCEPTED by D.Barrett at NYJ 19. D.Barrett to NYJ 19 for no gain (D.Gabriel).
Ha. I thought about making the same move, but I dropped my kicker instead... wasn't ready (yet) to part with Clayton.I hate to admit this as a Jets fan, since I hate the Pats, but Gabriel looked good last night. He broke a number of tackles, made some nice catches, and generally looked to be targeted a lot (part of that was Williams getting hurt and being away from Champ Bailey). But if he's consistently on the field, and Brown is drawing the CB1, then I think he's going to put up decent numbers. I dropped my kicker for him this week.... and while I have to figure out who to drop for my kicker next week, I'm pretty sure it will be someone other than Gabriel at this point.I am dropping Michael Clayton this week for Gabriel.
No reason for Caldwell to be on the field anymore. He should be replaced.Ha. In other words, he's no longer Doug Gabriel, he's "WR New England" . . . ?Ha. IMO, "WR New England" is a player with a high floor and a low ceiling. If he can rattle off a few more good games, I think he's poised to be a great "sell high" player. Does anybody think that he'll be able to do what others Pats WR's have failed to do... become a top tier WR in NE? If so, why?ExactlyIn other words, he's no longer Doug Gabriel, he's "WR New England" . . . ?Ha. One thing that Gabriel has going for him is his size. He is 6-2, 215. Most recent NE WRs have been on the small side. Branch 5'9"Givens 6'0"Brown 5'10"Patten 5'9"I'm not sure any of the above-mentioned WRs could have caught the TD pass last night. He needed every inch of his frame to stretch out & catch the ball. His size might allow him to catch just a few more balls that makes the difference between a mediocre fantasy WR and a good fantasy WR.IMO, "WR New England" is a player with a high floor and a low ceiling.
