As it's been said before right now the battle for rb1 is still "fluid". I was hoping you guys could help me understand why they don't just go full pedal on the gas on Martin? I understand Blount is a solid pure runner incumbent but since he is most likely going to be the featured back anyways? Help me think like a coach

Seems to me it could one (or a few) of many possible reasons....1) They don't actually buy that Martin can be the "workhorse" #1 RB2) They are trying to keep Blount motivated3) They are trying to keep Martin motivated but not "handing him the gig"4) They are trying to set a precedent to the rest of the team that you EARN your spot5) ???

because they have a vet there that's decent and Martin is a rookie who's doing well but he's still a rookie that has yet to play a real NFL game.

I expect that Martin will take the lion share of the carries / receptions but Blount isn't going away.

Well Greg schiano needs to stop it, it's hurting my fantasy production :P . quick question that isn't as relevant to the post. I also know that this varies so there is no definite answer but do you think running backs are more efficient when giving up some of the load? Think Arian foster and Ben rate or d Williams and Stewart? I think the pros are a longer shelf life and less injuries, also if there's an injury one rb should b primed to go off , but this is at the cost of production, tds, etc.

for the team / player yes there are pro's but from a fantasy POV I could care less about that. I want my guy to get the ball in his hands as many times as possible. More touches the better....as far as what is optimal I don't know if there are studies but I think the teams know (or at least they think they do) and they adjust players touches accordingly.
