Draft Dominator = Cheating? (1 Viewer)

Since no one else called you on it

That example is not representative of this situation, when you're investing your money you're not in a competition verses other people.
Investing money is probably the best example of competition there is!!What do you think businesses do every day??

Let me be clear, I don't have a problem with it.  But there is a difference between a public\generic cheatsheet (ESPN, Yahoo, Street Smith's magazine) and somebody's personal list, say David Dodds.
No - there isn't.I'm sure this argument has been taken care of aplenty so I won't dwell on how utterly wrong you are iun calling Dodds' projections "somebody's personal" list.
Marc -Not sure if you read my other posts in the thread. But when I said Dodds' personal list, I was not referring to the one everybody here can download (with subscription). I was talking about if a guy calling up Dodds personally, explaining the scoring and his league mates drafting habits and then having Dodds prepare a personal list for somebody.

If this person showed up at draft, had zero input in his own draft sheets (Because he paid Dodds to do it) and won the league year after year, I could understand the label of cheating.

Yeah. And I bet he thinks it is unethical to use fertilizer in his garden too. My guess is he'd insist on 'all natural'... but then ban the use of 'bull crap'. :-)
Of course, it would just not be acceptable to use anyone else's 'bull crap' for fertilizer, only that produced from the fruits of your own being, lest it be cheating. :yucky:

Gardening is a great analogy. A working couple may not have the time, energy, or desire to plant a garden, but they may have the resources to hire landscapers to do this. It would be disingenuous for them to say their hobby was gardening, but they certainly can still enjoy their garden. Thomas Jones (as a Cardinal) and James Stewart showed me long ago that I am not very good at projections. I am more than happy to allow FBG's to project most of the stats. My few tweaks would definitely put me in your "unethical" category Snotbubbles. I wouldn't claim the projections in my draftday notebook as my own, and am sure there is nothing improper about this. I still enjoy the strategy of the draft, making trades, adds/drops, talking smack and watching games on Sunday's. The fun of fantasy football, for myself and many others, just doesn't include deciding exactly how many touchdowns I think each player will score.
I don't have a problem with people who want to use DD or magazines and do no work on their own. I think using all the technology and resources you possibly can is great. But if all you're gonna do is the day before the draft drop $20 so you can get DD, plug in someone elses numbers because you paid them for it, show up at the draft and pick based on those numbers, then maybe you should find 11 other guys in the same situation as you are, because really you don't care about pitting your knowledge and skill against the other people.I personally don't care if someone uses DD and plugs in the numbers FBG gives them.

I just got called out by a league mate. and i quote "you use some kind of drafting program, and thats borderline cheating".

what the heck? Anyone else had any similar experiences.
that's interestingI hadn't thought of anyone saying such a thing but now that I have it really doesn't seem so surprising. I guess he giures the computer is picking for you, not you yourself.
