Draft Dominator Question (1 Viewer)

Just wondering if there is an option to enter a team's tendency to pick a certain guy or position in order to get a more accurate mock draft...?

I mean, we all have those guys in our leagues that always gravitate to the players they had in previous years. I see it every year and can basically tell when teams are going to take a player (or DST/K) based on history.

Questions about Applications belong in the Applications Questions Forum. Where they go unnoticed and ignored by FBG staff, but maybe a helpful poster will answer.

I dont think you can do specific owners. You can put in last years position draft list in CSV format and it will project players according to how your league drafts. File>import ADP user

Sad but true fact: Since the approximate start of the "fantasy football season", let's say June 1 2010, Bruce Henderson, the FBG staff member responsible for Draft Dominator, has made 13 posts. 1 in the Shark Pool and 12 in the Apps forum. Those are also the only posts he's made in 2010.

In that time, there have been about 350 threads with posts in the Apps Questions forum. Which, I guess, means the average poster has about a 1-in-30 chance of getting a staff response to a question.

If it wasn't for GoBears84, I don't think anyone would know much of anything about the apps on this site. He should be a paid staff member for what he does in there.

Very true.Since the apps are a large part of the value that FBG sells, one would think that they would support the apps a bit better. Don't get me wrong. I love the apps and the DD has changed the way I draft for the better, but I would expect a little bit more feedback in the appropriate forum for something that is so much the core of the subscription value.

Yeah, props to GoBears for helping out guys with app questions. :kicksrock:

As far as Bruce, definitely not a frequent poster...but he DOES repsond to email questions. That is a fact.

I'd rather have Bruce work on the apps than answer a million threads with the same questions. GoBears (and other posters) do a great job, which is what a message board is for. It's not a conduit to the developers, it's a place where a community can help out and discuss with other members of the community.

I read somewhere on here that Bruce has some personal issues going on, which is the reason for his absence this season. I don't recall the details, but we should cut him a little slack. Even when he has been fully engaged, the response to threads in that forum by FBG is one of the weaker points, but between Bruce/GoBears and others in the forums, I have been able to navigate all of my issues/questions...

I'll cut Bruce slack, but Joe should assign another staffer to the forums rather than rely on the kindness of other posters. Unless he's paying GoBears to hang out in there, he's just taking advantage of his helpfulness to cover what should be FBG's own Customer Service.

you might get an answer to a question in the App forum (usually from GoBears), but good luck making any suggestions for improvement. people have been asking for return yardage since 2003, and it's still absent from all FBG tools and projections. one of the biggest glaring omissions by the staff, IMO.

Not to get into it, but if FBG project it, how hard would it be to add a column for the stat line and integrate it into calculations?

Not hard. Which is why people are so frustrated that it hasn't happened. There are a bunch of other minor fixes that someone could probably code up in a weekend which also haven't happened. You're really not getting fully professional development and support from FBG, but that really isn't their business anyways -- the tools are just very convenient ways to access and manipulate their projections. It's not like they have a team of guys working on all this stuff, it's just a guy or two with many competing priorities...

 I should hire you all as my PR.I look at it as giving back for all the help that was given to me when I first started up.

It would nice to get more feedback from Bruce/David as to the plans for DD, and a priority list of what they plan on implementing. Some things should be simple (ability to implement full league schedules to see the impact of a trade on another team) and some are more difficult (MAC!).

While I applaud GoBears84 (and others who help out) most of the questions posed in the Apps Forum can be simply answered if folks would take the time to search through the pinned threads. (I am also guilty of this on occasion.) Most of the new threads are borne out of simple laziness on the part of the posters. The answers to almost every question are already there.

Thanks TWP.Yes, the App Forum was meant to operate like all the other forums - where people discuss the issues with each other. It isn't designed to be a Q and A or help section for Bruce or any other staff guy. The same way the Shark Pool isn't.It's designed so people can talk to each other about it and the community can help each other. We have great posters like GoBears who are like great posters in the Shark Pool helping each other. But I also understand that it can give the perception that it should be a help section or direct line to Bruce. And if that's the perception and we don't deliver on that, then people are disappointed. Let me see what we can do to address that.J
