I would like to use this software for the first time this year but I'm not sure  if it works well with an Auction format? Has anyone here used it for an Auction draft and can you give me any advice on how to use it well. Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Yes. Go to file --> setup ---> General and tick the auction setting. Wrong forum noob

Sure its the wrong forum... but at least that "noob" has been a member a full year. Unlike yourself ;)
Thought that was pretty funny too. I've used DD to get auction values and thought the default values were a little high for the top players (at least for my league). You may want to play with the fudge factor to scale those back a little.

The DD is a great tool for auctions, but you have to set custom baselines. DD will tell you that every player below the baseline is worth $1, which is clearly not true; the #24 RB by FBG projections is Tatum Bell, followed by Corey Dillion, and both of those are obviously worth more than $1. By flattening the price curve below the baseline, the price of players above the baseline is over-inflated.

Personally, I look at the projection lists and previous year auctions from my league, and set the baseline for each position based on where I think I wouldn't spend more than $1 on a player. So, for QBs that is around QB24 or so, for RBs it's something like RB50-60, for WRs it's maybe WR70-80.

Once you set the baselines to something more reasonable, the curve of prices should be more realistic. You may still need to tweak with the fudge factor, based on previous-year analysis for your league.
