Draft Dominator (1 Viewer)

Ok guys.. I know the program is due out about today (Ill assume tomorrow).... Ive yet to use this in any practical sense... Ive been playing with the 2009 version and see that it works quite well (though I get angry with some of its picks because looking back, they didnt pan out... but they were good at the time)

I start a draft tomorrow and am hoping the DD is out for me to use, or Ill be slightly disappointed... its a small buy-in so im not overly worried, but id love to have it to test out asap... my REAL hardcore draft wont be til Sept. but I am so impatient it hurts.

Anyone have any little tips or tricks on how to squeeze max juice out of the DD product? (simple 12 man serpentine draft) Or is it just as simple as plug in your stats and go? Just looking for diff strategies to really dominate this year.

exactly, ive read thru many posts about the tool... but im looking for more of a "this is how I use it..." than a step by step guide... i got all that down. I want real world, I get greasy with this program and it gives me a crazy advantage via ______.that's all.

If you use the projections dominator also you can weight "expert" projections with your own and really start to nail it down to your liking. I would still use some common sense when looking at the picks, you know your leaguemates, make sure and take that into acount for ADP.

DD is heavily based on Value, correct? I know better than to just take whichever pick the program tells me...

I know to look at the board, and see if there is a player I have ranked higher at the given position and roll with it, and to know how the others are drafting as well.

Example: if i wanted an 'elite' TE, I know that about in round 4, once dallas clark or gates is taken, that the floodgates will open and the next 4-5 consecutive picks will be TE's... just how it seems to go I find... the program has no way of knowing this, but I do..

Am I also to assume the program will not advise you to take handcuffs to your players (esp RBs), or could this perhaps be an enhancement in the 2010 version? that would be pretty fantastic if you ask me.

No it does not take into account handcuffs that I am aware of not that I would look for such a feature myself but I suppose maybe it would be helpful to a few.

Good post by CK here......the forum you guys want to visit is the Applications Forum. There are other threads in there that also deal with specific complications and solutions......or should I say "workarounds."If you have a fairly standard league setup it is mostly a cake program to utilize, but for more intricate usage these threads can be a godsend, not to mention there are some knowledgeable message board members willing to help if you cannot find specifically what you are looking for.

As far as enhancements this year, I wouldn't expect much more than the separation of IDP positions for 2010. DD probably won't be available for Mac users, although I believe there are "workarounds" for it. It probably won't include return yards in the scoring setup either. I think with all of the other things FBG is working on this year that we shouldn't expect much change from last years versions of the Dominator applications. At least that is what Joe led me to believe.

First, I like DD best as a mock draft tool. I model different scenarios in each league prior to draft day.

Second, I use it to keep track of my online drafts in terms of who is out there.

Third, I print out cheat sheets prior to live drafts based on my own projection tweaks and league scoring, then carry just sheets from Excel export.

As a draft simulator, you can set the DD to draft with different lists, i.e. the default DD list, an average magazine ranking lists, etc. If you know your leaguemates you can probably tab where each owner falls on the scale and use that list for them and their draft picks.

Does anyone else agree that it's time for ESPN to do a special for the annual launch of DD? Oh, wait...on second thought, I still don't want my leaguemates to know about it!!
