Greenway, Wimbley or Carpenter who ever they feel will be the best OLB and be able to play from Day 1, I think Wimbley should be the pick but I hope they take the risk of the guy who I think can be the biggest play maker in the pass rush.

Wimbley, Carpenter, and Greenway in that order.

Put Wimbley > Carpenter because of his "higher ceiling", as Nolan wants 'stars', not solid players. Both ahead of Greenway cause I'm not sure if he's suited for the 3-4...haven't followed him too closely.

I don't see how Greenway has fallen this far, 49ers would come out like bandits if it actually worked out like this for them.

Can Greenway fit in the 3-4?We've been debating this on the niner boards and there is no consensus...a few Iowa homers have chimed in and don't think he is athletic or big enough to play OLB in the 3-4, even though diff scouting reports seem to indicate otherwise.

Thoughts?

My answer is yes, on the weakside. He is a football player, very instinctive, and very productive. Is he the best fit here? My answer is no. Did I vote for him here? Yes. SF coaches were very enamored with him at the Senior Bowl. I trust them to know a heck of a lot more than us. Greenway is a gamer, not a gym-er. He's smart, he's tough, he takes good angles, he makes a ton of tackles. He hasn't been asked to pass rush much, but I don't think he'll be great, just decent or mediocre. I hear SF loves Lawson. That's a better fit, but then he's struggling with the idea, and thinks he can dominate with his hand on the ground.
