The past couple years, it seems like a lot of people have preached the strategy of taking the best RBs on the board early -- often 1-2, then following up with WRs and waiting on a QB til later unless you could get Peyton Manning or someone like that. With a few exceptions, I have tried that strategy and have met with real good success.
I was wondering if with the current RBs out there, folks were still adhering to this strategy. I read an article in the dentist office the other day (pulled tooth...yikes) and the author made the argument that since more teams than ever are giving 2 RBs a lot of carries, throwing in the red zone, etc., that this strategy wasn't really the obvious choice any more. The author basically was saying, "everyone nowadays just picks RBs 1-2, waits on QBs, etc....so you have to do something different."
Wanted to check therefore to see what the thoughts on this board was on draft strategies. For the discussion, assume a pretty standard league: 10 teams, each starting 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DT, 1 K.
Thanks in advance for your insights. This site has a lot of shrewd players and I'm curious to see what you think...
