I traded down from #1 to #3 (not for the whole draft though....actually I gave my 1st, 3rd, and 5th rounders for his 1st, 2nd, and 4th rounders, so I didnt have a 3rd or 5th rounder but had two 2nd and 4th rounders). Five WRs were off the board before my 2nd round pick (CJ, Harrison, Holt, S Smith, R Moss).
12 team serpentine. 6pts for passing TDs. Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1PK, 1DST. Strict roster restrictions (must draft 3QBs, 4RBs, 5WRs, 2TEs, 2K, 2DST, plus one extra player at any position in 19th round)
My first 7 picks
Tomlinson
Fitzgerald
Chambers
D Foster
Brady
McCallister
LJ Smith
Was surprised Foster was there at 4.10, and really couldnt believe I got McCallister at 6.12. I know I reached for LJ Smith but I was targeting him (Im thinking he could be a top 6 TE) and I think the Eagles homer in my league would have taken him before my next 2 picks..I could have waited and still got someone like Watson or Witten later, but I have to live with that one mistake. The plan was to grab Deangelo Williams there but I thought I could wait ONE MORE ROUND and get him at 8.12, but he was taken at 8.10. All I can do is hope Foster can stay healthy
Also, I usually wait alot longer to grab a QB but I didnt care for what else I was looking at with my 5th pick, and I didnt expect Brady to be there so I took him. When D Williams was snaked form me, I decided to make sure I had good QB depth for trade bait later, so I backed up Brady with Plummer and McNair.
Full roster:
QB: Brady, Plummer, McNair
RB: Tomlinson, Foster, McCallister, Lundy, M Turner
WR: Fitzgerald, Chambers, Branch, Lloyd, Baskett
TE: LJ Smith, Kinney
PK: Feely, Wilkins
DST: Washington, Atlanta
I rebounded nicely after that one mistake and should contend once again, as long as injuries dont kill me.
